Long Island Bone & Joint

I had read these reviews before going to see the Dr's of Long Island Bone and Joint. I have to admit I was a little nervous but I had many friends that told me to go see the Dr's there. When I first got there I had some trouble with the paperwork and the front desk staff assisted me in filling out the paperwork. I was then greeted by the Medical assistant and saw the PA. They were all very nice and helpful. Once I saw the Dr he was very detailed. He and the PA answered all of my question and spent a long time with me explaining the surgery that I needed. \r There was a bit of a wait in the waiting for the Dr but that wasn't too bad they did have free wi-fi and had the news on. The medical assistant was promt in returning my calls when I had questions and everything has been great since the surgery. \r I also saw how helpful they were with elderly patients and they had office staff in the waiting room helping someone with a splint on their hand filling out paperwork. I have been to many offices and this is one of the ones I wouldn't mind going back to. more

Actually, incompetent and rude is being nice. The office staff treats patients like criminals heading into central booking. It's hard to believe these people work in the medical field, as they have no concern for a patient's recovering or well-being. We received an erroneous charge and were told the balance needed to be settled before seeing the doctor again. Even though it was a mistake, they did nothing to resolve the issue and didn't care that the patient was limping and in pain following major surgery. Not sure if the doctors are aware of how badly the staff treat patients but needless to say, we scheduled a follow-up elsewhere. Pros: mediocre doctor Cons: rude office staff, long wait times more

I went to see the Dr's at long Island Bone & Joint after I went to the ER at Mather Hospital & they were very good. The Dr's explained my injury well & started me on physical therapy which I wasn't thrilled about initially, but I they referred me to a great physical therapist & feel much better! I'm not sure what the last user review was about, but the girl that helped me make my appointment is the same every time I go & she is very helpful. The only thing I will say is the wait is very long, but any good doctor is these days. I recommend the Dr's to all my friends & family. Pros: Very experienced & helpful Cons: Long waits more

The Dr.s are competent and qualified. The office help is a complete nightmare. The majority of the women who work there have the charm of teamsters who are on strike. The one who makes your appointments and hands out your scripts treats you like you just cheated on her. Have been there several times and each time I have seen her treat patients as if they are nothing but a total nuisance. It's amazing how people treat each other these days. Like I said in the beginning, good Dr's, but I am actually changing DR's and travelling farther because I can't stand the staff. Pros: Good Dr's Cons: Office staff incompetent and rude, on MANY occassions w/all patients. more
