Its not that this place is terrible, its just not great. Whoever was on the grill in the kitchen was GREAT. My steak was cooked perfectly! But...with that said...the quality of the steak that he cooked me was sub par. The wait staff....OMG...we had some woman named carey....she was horrible.Constantly let us run out of beverages, said she would be back with napkins....ten minutes later she came back, even had to get another wait staff go get her to bring beverages and the bill. I had the clam bisque, it was warm at best, and quite watered down. Absolutly not the consistancy and quality of a bisque. I also had a delmonico 16 oz steak. The cook prepared it perfectly, but the quality of the steak was just not there .It was suppose to be 16oz, but I just can not believe that. I am not a big guy and I ate the steak, a baked potato, nearly a loaf of bread, the soup...and still mooched off my wifes burger. Food portions are just not there....and that steak was $21! Now, to my wifes burger...and yes..LOL I take her out to get a steak and 75%of the time she endsup getting a burger...go figure...but anyway...even the burger was like....yeah, whatever. No great grilled taste...just a plain ole burger for $8. I also had a budweiser. $3,25 for an 8oz glass, thank god it was happy hour...buy one get one free. Summary. Just nothing special, not too bad, just nothing special. There are too many other places to spend your money than to go to this place and not be happy! The nicest person I found in the whole place was the hostest. Now she was quite an asset to this joint. And yes my friends.....it is an everyday, ordinary food joint. Everybody goes to Jesses i've been going there for ever. I see people i know that have lived in the area for 50 years and even with all the big chain restaurant we still come back.Eating isn't one of those things you do out of loyalty, quality, price and service thats key in the restaurant business.The staff is always smileing and friendly, you will not get a better deal on drinks in town top shelf brands always two for one.Only wish the bar area was bigger,but we can live with that.Nobody has said a thing about the french fries LOVE'EM.If you haven't gone go today, if you have you already know ! We moved to the Brandon area in 1986 and found Jesse's to have good food and a great neighborhood atmosphere. We often run into friends. Anyone over 50 that lives here has probably eaten the "Jesse's Special", a very large ground steak with shredded lettuce and mushrooms and no bun -- a low carb diner's dream. Jesse's has two bar areas and ofen people get their drinks while waiting, and if they find a 'first come-first served' table in the bar, will eat their meal there. Their wine glasses are filled -- not portion controlled! The place is known for its prime rib and other steaks. Their filet is a bit pricey, but they only use the best meats. My wife and I like to have the crab appetizer -- 3 large cakes for around $10. If we each get an appetizer and a house salad, we can eat for under $30, 20% tip included. I'm waiting for the food channel to feature Jesse's on "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." Pros: Good food, neighborhood atmosphere Cons: May have to wait, but there is a happy hour before 7 and after 9 more

Jesse?s is one of my favorite places to meet and eat. I?ve been going there for 3 years now. The steaks are great ? prime rib fantastic ? fried shrimp one of my favorites. You've got to try the Jesse's Special - awsome! They serve the best broccoli anywhere - when the cook is willing to prepare it :(. Quality drinks; 2 for 1 before 7:00. Bad news for beer drinkers - must pay full 3.75 per bottle :(. Yes, sometimes there is a wait. Don?t rush - go to one of the two bars and enjoy an adult beverage ? with or without alcohol. Thumbs up! Jesse's USED to be good. Since owner, Mr. Da'mico doesn't seem to be involved , the staff has changed, it's gone way downhill. As a single, 'straight' woman, I've recently been treated with total disrespect by the female staff & the food just isn't what it used to be. In fact, it stinks. On one occasion, I ordered the Greek shrimp. The salad & bread were old, the shrimp were overcooked, dry & tasteless. The Greek seasoning was like dust. On another occasion, my male dining partner, for his birthday, ordered the prime rib. It was cold as ice. That's not counting sitting a 6'2' man in a little itty bitty chair near the doorway. Ruined that birthday dinner. Never received any birthday celebration, even tho I called ahead. I tried again to frequent the restauarant on my birthday. Ruined my birthday too. Refused to serve me, even tho I have a $30 certificate from prior inciidents. On my birthday, no less! Years ago, Jesse's was great. We all were there every Fri night since 1988. All the business guys did a big lunch on a regulaer basis. I personally don't care what anyone's sexual preference is. Evidently, they do. Beware, all you straight women out there. don't go to Jesse's or God forbid you complain of the quality of the food. Which, by the way, went way downhill. WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO JESSES FOR YEARS, WE STARTED GOING FOR THEIR FAMOUS PRIME RIB, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPOINTED, BUT NOW THEY HAVE ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP AND CRAB LEG NIGHTS, THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!! Jesses is known for a number of things, but those I have spoken with had never heard of their Tuesday Night "ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT" crab legs. Jesse's does not serve the typical spindly legs found in most places. These are large, sweet, succulent crab legs - some of the best I have ever experienced! At first $24 for crab may seem a bit pricey in Brandon, until you experience it ONCE. You will be rapidly convinced it was the best priced meal you have ever purchased! I judge a steak house by how good their Delmonico steaks are. True steak lovers know it is the most flavorful cut. Piime rib may be more tender but lacks flavor. A steakhouse that does not offer a Delmonico does not deserve to be rated as a true steak house. Jesse's has the best Delmoico in town reasonably priced served on a sizzling hot plate with mushrooms and great flavor, cooked to perfectoion with great sides. The service is excellent and if there is wait time to be seated,like all great restaurents, they have two bars to enjoy a before dinner cocktail or other refreshment.Hey, you got to try this place!Every one I've taken there always goes back. This is the only restaurant that I will order a steak in (my personal favorite is their Delmonico) because I know it will be perfect. I have eaten in many "steak" houses and never got a perfect steak every time until Jesse's. more
