We used to go to the original Londzell's a few years ago. This new endeavor has some serous flaws. Here are the good, bad and the ugly.
Good. Location, parking, food. Bad. Service and costs for that service. It costs $10 to get in. And that's fine since there is live entertainment, which was overly loud, but was indeed entertaining. Drink prices...high and very poor selection. I asked for 3 or 4 different liquors and they had none of them. Nothing extravagant. Items any well stocked bar should have. Got my bourbon in a tiny snifter that was embarrassingly small but cost $9. Food prices fair for the quality. I ordered the Talapia, my girlfriend ordered the bourbon glazed Salmon salad. They brought her instead the Salmon plate. This is where the service began to break down. We are sitting at the bar mind you. Bartender seemed disorganized and much more interested in selling drinks then servicing those of us who already had been served. I found out why when the bill came. They add a 20% ""service charge"" to the bill. I was a bartender and waiter for years back in the day. When you add a service charge there is little need to provide good service. Bartender is getting a tip regardless and a good tip at 20%. I go to use the mens room and there is an ""attendant"" working there. I am compelled to tip so I give him the smallest bill I have $5. He barely acknowledges it. No personality...kind of like our bartender. Plus the whole rest room attendant thing is not necessary and makes patrons uncomfortable, since they feel compelled to tip and all they wanted to do was use the rest room, not pay to use the rest room. Later when we asked for our check...we sat and waited. Once it finally arrived we found we were charged another $5 for the Salmon order mixup - should have been charged for what we ordered not the higher priced wrong item, and then we sat and waited. Bartender literally ignored us. We were invisible to her. It seems that adding a 20% service charge (on a party of two no less) provides little incentive for actual service. Bartender was much too busy selling drinks to others who also would be subject to a 20% service charge I assume. Keep in mind we are sitting at the bar. We waived the check at her...she ignored us. Finally another bartender took our check, shook our hands (maybe she realized we had been ignored) and bid us good night. Londzell you need to pay attention my man...I've run clubs and restaurants and you ain't going to make it on poor service, high costs and poor selection of drinks. Spent over $100 on two fish dinners, 2 glasses of house wine, one bourbon (small), and two lousy desert drinks Kahlua and cream which were actually two glasses of cream with some Kahlua hiding in there somewhere. Can't see running back there anytime soon.
