Best

We have been taking our dogs her for almost 20 years now and I highly recommend them! Dr. Harris is a man who clearly cares for the animals he treats. He is great at explaining ...

Worst

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! Horrible service, unfriendly, and they just do not care.

Dr. Harris has the BEST Veterinary Clinic EVER! 10/26/2011

We moved to Lompoc from Northern California almost six years ago with our four dogs. We asked around and ended up trying a vet, with a big new beautiful facility. I quickly realized you can not judge a book by its cover. Our first visit confirmed we made the right choice by transferring to Dr. Harris. We have a large German Shepherd, two large mutts and a chihuahua. Most of our visits have only been for routine vacs and exams but earlier this month Nico, our German Shepherd had to have surgery on one of his ears because of a broken blood vessel. During his check up while taking his vitals Dr. Harris became concerned about his heart rate. He checked it four times and ordered some tests. The results of the test were a rare diagnosis for his breed cardiomyopathy. The signs of cardiomyopathy in dogs are not very apparent. Additionally, I did not relay some of the few symptoms Nico had been experiencing because I thought it was a sign of his age 91/2 years. Dr, Harris ordered several diagnostic tests and consulted with a cardiologist after Nico's electrocardiogram. He developed a medical treatment plan and medications for Nico that have been nothing short of a miracle. I was afraid that we only had a few days left with our beautiful baby shepherd now I feel we will have at least several months. He has started eating, breathing easier, wanting to play and meets me at the door when I get home from work. Dr. Harris is great about offering information about options and cost associated with our options. We are lucky enough to be able to afford all the medicine Nico needs and the results have been awesome. Dr. Harris is very careful to explain there is no cure, but the quality of life for Nico is much better on the medicine. Dr. Harris continues to monitor him and is very supportive and sensitive to our feelings for beloved ""puppy"", as Dr. Harris refers to him. I have had some good Vets in the past but as I said earlier Dr. Harris is the BEST! more

Competent, Capable, Caring and Compassionate 7/21/2011

I wanted to write to tell you how very grateful I am for the care and comforting received by our beloved dog Lucky. Dr. Harris performed surgery on her to remove several growths and to clean her teeth. Later, we discovered that Lucky had cancer and we knew the loss of her front leg would not enable her to talk due to the pre-exhisting trouble with both back legs. The professional yet caring way of helping us deal with the decision to end her suffering was very much appreciated. I cannot thank them enough for the compassion, during all the processes as well as the card and flowers they sent afterward. I will always remember this and when we are ready to adopt a new pet, we will be sure to bring him/her in for care at Lompoc Veterinary Hospital. more

Arrogance doesn't belong in the veterinary field! 6/1/2009

There is nothing worse than a doctor who refuses to listen to a cient. Being dismissive of an owner's point of view is hardly the way to create returning clients.\r The front office staff was indifferent to my concerns.\r Perhaps a complete overhall of the business is in order.\r Pros: None that I can think of. Cons: They didn't seem to care one hoot about me or my pet. more

Friendly staff 10/8/2008

I went to this vet after reading the reviews of it here and I must say that I was very happy with my choice. The staff is very friendly and willing to help out! I will continue to use this vet for my animals. Pros: Nice, clean facility with a friendly staff more

very caring clinic 12/31/2007

Not sure about the previous review. We've been taking our 3 dogs to Dr. Harris for some time and he is very caring and gentle, from our 80 pound lab to our 4 lb chihuahua. One of our dogs has some health problems and Dr. Harris frequently follows up and has been very helpful. We highly recommend this clinic! more

Not a caring clinic 11/13/2007

Dr. Harris is an educated man with an AAHA accredited clinic but I found his approach to be much too rough for my dog. If you want good care you may try this clinic, but if you wish for a caring hand, you will not find one here. Pros: Office staff is friendly, Good value Cons: Dr. was a little rough more
