I REALLY enjoy this course. Good pricing, friendly staff. It is easy to get a tee time and the holes present a chalange. Pros: fast play, great staff, beautiful course

Great Value 7/24/2008

Sawmill is a great course for the average golfer as well as those on either side of average. Positioning off the tee is critical, as length isn't as important as it can be on other courses. Par 3s are a challenge, and some of the greens can eat you up if you're not positioned well or if you're just a couple inches off your mark. On parts of the back 9, you feel as though you're the only group on the entire course due to the scenery and positioning of the holes. The value for the cost is amazing, and if you obtain and use the frequent player card (free), it gets that much better. Pros: Price, Length, Scenery, Diverse Challenges Cons: Sand Traps more

Big D 8/28/2003

Only golfed there once and found it to be quite an unpleasent experience. Try to rush you through too quickly so you can't really enjoy the game. Staff unpleasent to talk to, make you feel unwelcomed. Cons: expensive, crowed, rude more

Definetly Not Recommended 8/26/2003

Although this is a beautiful course (disregarding the washouts), the staff was rude and pushy. They put way too many people on the course at once and then pushed everyone as fast as they could. We did not enjoy ourselves because we were either being pushed or waiting for others to tee off. I will never golf this course again. Pros: Beautiful country Cons: Rude staff, Ravines & washouts, Crowded more

sam sooner 3/5/2003

Attractive, rolling, tree lined course. Good set of par 3's. This course demands position off the tee, not distance! You might not always want to hit driver off some par 4's and 5's. Greens are a real challenge, small and some are severely sloped. Nice practice area. One negative, the course does not drain well, so at times it can be wet. All considered, a good value. more

why play in a bog? 10/2/2002

Sawmill is a nice course on the outter shell, but once you are into the course, you end up playing in a bog. Personally, I like the course down the road which is Oak Glen County Club. The people there are much more friendly and they keep their course in much better condition. Pros: Close to Home, Inexpensive, Good practice area Cons: Bog like conditions, Not very pleasant stf more

Worst Designed Course in State 9/18/2002

Small, severely sloped, hyper grainy greens. Good looking par 3's. 13 other terrible to awefully designed exhibits. (Especially No. 7). more

Editorial
  • Mostly wooded, with rolling, hilly terrain, this 18-hole course also has three ponds and lots of sand await misdirected shots.
