I made an appointment and didn't mentioned that I was going to write a review about this salon. My first impression was the wonderful smell that greeted me when I came in their strangely located front door. It did not smell of chemicals as most salons do. I was quickly and pleasantly acknowledged by the receptionist. Next, I was offered some tea or water. I did have to ask her name. At this time Lynn directed me to a small changing room to put a wrap over my clothing. Almost immediately, my stylist greeted me with a smile and her name. Andrea had me follow her back to her chair. This was great, most places wash your hair first then go to their chair. Andrea asked a few questions and did something others fail to do, she listened. Following a lovely neck and shoulder massage, she shampooed my hair. She worked on my hair for what seemed like a long time, not too long yet I didn't feel rushed. Her conversation was pleasant and made me realize she wasn't going to talk about me when I left, either. The room had a great vibe to it and the girls obviously got along well and liked working together, which you don't see at many salons in the Lansing area. After Andrea completed a beautiful style on my not so easy to style hair, she went over what she used and gave me a couple of well thought out "marketing" gift-certificates, and a mint! When I started to exit the cut area, something strange but extremely cool happened, everyone in the room focused their attention on me and said "goodbye"! I looked around, but is was me they were talking to. At this time I was offered and accepted a make-up refresher from a very knowledgeable young make-up artist. When I paid I was given a gift for new clients which told me they really cared and wanted my continued business. Oddly, at no time did I feel that I was pressured, or for that matter, like I was even in Lansing. A few days later I received a follow-up call to see how my "experience" was. I told her what I'm telling you, it was GREAT!
