Don't Waste Your Time or Money. 2/14/2010

We gave the Lounge one more chance but it was third & final one after going there for a few years. It has really gone down hill. The staff hate their job & it shows. The bartenders are the most rude horrible people you have ever encountered, they don't understand that they should try to work a tip or just don't care. The bouncers who roam around the club have no manners & will probably be hit with a lawsuit soon. The randomally grab people if they think you are having too much of a good time, invade their space without any provocation & threaten to kick you out when you try & correct them. You can not give or get light shows & you better think twice if you try & share some bottled water with a friend because they think you are sharing some kinda water drug or something. Really weird how this place used to be the most awesome club & has turned into a gutter club due to the bad service from the staff. Around Dallas there are several other places to spend your money & get treated like you are supposed to! Pros: Good DJ's on Occasion. Cons: Staff, Bartenders, Customer Service more

RUDE STAFF, CRAPPY ATMOSPHERE, OCCASIONALLY GOOD MUSIC 1/1/2010

This venue has really gone downhill. The staff here is very rude, not a PLUR-y kind of place at all. I stepped outside to grab my cigarettes 15 minutes after paying my $15 cover and the doorman wouldn't let me back in. Just about everyone is unpleasant to deal with. I really don't see any reason to come here unless A)you're in high school and it's the only place that will let you in or B) you want to buy/use drugs and have no other place to go. It's basically a crackhouse (or should I say ecstasy/cocaine house) and there are some very sketchy people there. Unless your favorite DJ is playing here, I would recommend avoiding this place and partying at one of Dallas's finer nightclubs. Pros: Ocasionally good DJ's play here Cons: Very rude staff, full of high school kids, usually lame more

Rude staff, bad parking, too expensive. 4/25/2009

We went on a Saturday night. Parking was an absolute nightmare. If you're lucky enough to find a lot with some space, you'll pay at least $7 to park there. Short of that, expect to search forever and wind up parked far away in a dark alley or something. The line to get in was very long. My advice: If you come at all on Friday or Saturday, come early. I came in contact primarily with 3 different members of staff: The bouncer, the girl who took our cover charge and the bartender. The bouncer wasn't terribly rude, but he was definitely being really short and impolite with us. Granted, that's okay for a bouncer, they're supposed to be no-nonsense and sort of intimidating. Okay. After we pass the bouncer, we walk inside to the register to pay our cover. The girl at the register is talking on her cell phone and is basically just ignoring us even as we're standing right in front of her waiting to pay. My girlfriend finally had to say, "Hello? Are you going to charge us?" The girl rolls her eyes and acts like it's a huge inconvenience just for her to do her job. After she took our money (we were each charged $20), my girlfriend tried to apologize for having to get her attention that way, but she wouldn't say anything back to us. She just sort of sat there, acting offended at us and looked away. Wow. If you're that miserable doing your job, maybe you should look for another one! The bartender was also really rude and cocky. It was difficult to get service from him. The first time I came up, he ignored me forever and then when someone else came up next to me, he passed me over to take their order first (I assume because they already had a tab, but still, rude). The drinks were expensive. $7 for what should be really basic, cheap mixed drinks (one shot of cheap vodka plus whatever) and $6 for beers. The prices might make sense if it were a really fancy, upscale club, but it's not. It's kind of dirty and while it's a fun place to hang out, it's just not a really nice, upscale place. The prices just aren't in line with the type of club it is. Also (and I'm sure that I'm not mistaken about this) I payed for our first round with my credit card. I didn't open a tab, I just signed off on a $20 charge for two mixed drinks and a beer and took my card back. That was the -only- charge that should have appeared on my card other than a trip I made to the ATM. Well, the $20 charge is missing from my bank statement but in it's place is a charge for $50 instead. I'm sure someone reading this might think I just got confused or something, but I'm certain of this. I'm absolutely positive that I signed off on a $20 receipt and was charged $50 instead. I'm still trying to get in contact with management about this. Anyway! Those are the major gripes. Other than that, the actual crowd was nice. Nice and attractive people (mostly aged 18 to mid 20s), great techno dancing, great DJs, good sound system. It would be a great experience if not for all of the problems I mentioned previously which sort of spoiled it for me. Pros: Good sound system, lots of hot girls in skimpy outfits. Cons: Staff is rude, parking is inadequate and prices are high. more

Still Gets the Best DJs, but Starting to Get Greedy. 4/5/2009

I've seen some truly great DJs at this venue, and for that I don't complain about the grungy atmosphere and general lack of upkeep/style, but if LL is going to start forcing customers to pay for valets and higher drink prices on big show nights like they do at fancier nightclubs, they should be prepared for the customers' expectations of service/drink quality to rise accordingly. -s Pros: Some truly awesome international DJs. Cons: Trying to go too upscale, charging too much. more

Wild, Crazy, Girls, Great Dj's, Guys, Whatever your lookin For ,it's here! 2/17/2008

Not for drinks... 2/13/2008

Amazing, amazing techno, but it's not really a place for the alchohol on Fri and Sat if you know what I mean. Thurs and Sun it turns into a goth club which is usually pretty dead. Pros: Insanely good techno, especially when they open up the roof. Cons: Everyone looks... gone. The sofa's are nasty and bathrooms are small. more

Know your roots 2/4/2008

Seattle to Boston. LA to Miami been there and partied hard. Lizard Lounge has a special place in my heart. The Lights, the sound system and the DJ's OMG...GLOBAL. Fridays and Saturdays is the techno, house, trance party with either very good local dj's or mind blowing global DJ's. Sundays is The Church and trust me everyone is welcome and the crown knows how to have a good time way into the weee early hours. The club looks like a gutted 1920's theater and the dance floor is the orchestra pit and stage. The second floor overlooks the main dance floor for some amazing views and instead of a smoke machine it's bubbles. The club has plenty of chill areas and high energy dance space and spills out into the parking lot when they host massive events. NEVER a dull night. Love it 1/7/2008

I grew up at that club, every Friday, SAT and SUN. Sunday is gothic night. People wear all black. People dress up like black leather, and white face paint and devil attire. Fun to people watch. You don't have to dress up if you don't want to. Best techno bar in Dallas, and the more you go the more you learn to techno dance. You can have glow sticks. You can get discount cupons on the LL website. Lots of hot girls with little clothing. Prices are good if you get there early. They have events, bikini contest, big DJ's on tour. The best club ever! Pros: great dancers, hot girls Cons: expensive on event nights more

Horrible 12/2/2007

When looking for a nightclub to go dancing the LL was recommended. Probably the worst customer service I have had at any bar/club. The door guy wasn't rude but just didn't say anything at all. The girl working the register couldn't have looked anymore bitter about her job. Again not being rude but said nothing. I blew it off and went to go and check out the club. The bar was was way understaffed. I think I waited 15 minutes to get a drink. Then he wouldn't let me order 2 drinks. The bartender had a horrible attitude as well. Over all I would give this place a thumbsdown. I would much rather go to another club where they treat their customers like they want them to be there. Pros: Stays open until 4am Cons: Horrible customer service more

Perfect except for Bartenders 1/2/2006

I went on New Years and it was perfect except the bartender/people ratio was 1/100. And the one that I came into contact with loved to tell people off and threaten to kick them out if they ordered without being asked what they wanted first. He was a cocky smart mouth and left about 50 people with out drinks to toast the new year with. But.....dancing and the overall environment was hot! more

Lizard Lounge 4/30/2003

Vance the guy up at the door that checks ids and stuff. He is awsome and cute. Please dont let him leave no were. The club is always great everytime me and my friend go there every Saturday. Pros: drinks, inexpensive, awsome Cons: n'a, n/a, n/a more

Awesome 7/13/2002

One of the best dance clubs I've been to. Friday & Saturday nights are when to go. 11:30 is when the crowd peak begins. Great sound system and great lighting. Funk W (sat. nights) is one of the best club dj's I've heard. Attracts mostly ages 18-25. Dress is may be casual. Many visitors wear hats and sneakers. Glowsticks are allowed. There is the main room where the club's own DJs spin, another room for guest DJs, and the rooftop often times during the summer may host another guest DJ. Excellent if you enjoy house, trance, progressive, breaks, and jungle. Beware at the bars you can buy only one drink at a time and the bouncers are real cocky. Pros: music, dancefloor, DJs Cons: bars, entry price, staff more

  • In Short
The intimate setting of this Deep Ellum bar allows for more acoustic performances than the rock shows of its neighbors. Hip-hop and singer-songwriters are frequently booked, and rock outfits perform un-plugged sets, offering area wanderers some variety. A fully stocked bar and an attentive staff create a conversation-friendly atmosphere in between acts. If it gets too hot, step outside to the adjoining patio.
