My husband, several friends and I recently stopped by the new Linda Bean's Perfect Maine in Delray after hearing that they were opening a restaurant here in Florida. What a treat it was to find 1st quality lobster at every day prices that we can all afford and not be limited to the rare, special meal.\r For any person who loves the charm of New England, this restaurant has achieved that feel from the slate floors with the marble compass rose, to the tin ceiling, bead board and beautiful white molding, wide open windows with counter-top eating spaces. There is something about the ambiance that is unique. The restaurant lends itself to pleasant gatherings and communication with old and new friends. The atmosphere itself is a surprise. This is not just another restaurant, but a place to go and enjoy an informal evening or afternoon. It is really clear that a lot of thought went into the design process for this restaurant.\r The food was amazing. Having visited Port Clyde in Maine in the past, my husband and I knew the lobster would be, quite simply, the finest anywhere in the world. We ordered the lobster stew and were surprised to find large pieces of the succulent lobster in the rich, creamy soup. We also ordered the trademark lobster rolls, specifically the junior size rolls since the stew is quite filling. The rolls were literally loaded with nothing but big chunks of lobster meat, some fresh herbs and a special sauce for seasoning. The lobster meat was plentiful and was falling out of the roll due to the generous portion. There were NO fillers, just top quality lobster! Top off your meal with a piece of the Maine blueberry pie. Scrumptious! more

Food was fine but the city of Delray is so messed up that there is no place to park. I went there to pick up a few sandwiches and they wanted to charge me 10 bucks to vallet! I had to park 4+ blocks away.. WITH FOUR KIDS!\r Manager said that was the way it was, they could do nothing! I will not be going back more

I've lived in Delray for nearly two years now, and I didn't know this place was even here until coming across it in a Google search for 'Delray's best sub'.\r \r Basically it's fast-food lobster and related foods. I tried the lobster roll, which at $16 isn't cheap. But it's real good. A quarter-pound of lobster, no filler, in a perfectly buttered and toasted roll spread thinly with mayo. I question whether this company can succeed with an expensive product in an economy which isn't getting any better, but when I crave a good lobster roll, I won't be shy so long as it's open.\r \r I want to point out that 'Delray Diner', a user of this site, posted two separate negative reviews of this restaurant earlier this month, in what looks like an unethical attempt to make it look like more than just she didn't like it. I have no affiliation or interest in the chain, apart from the fact that I like a good lobster roll... but I don't appreciate sneaky, underhanded tactics like this either, so I feel compelled to point it out.\r \r I read the NY Times article on Ms. Bean, and while I can't stand or respect her politics, the food is worth a try. more

When I initially drove by this fast food establishment I though it was a KFC, but to my surprise it is just as awful lobster roll fast food restaurant. \r I then researched the owner and found out a few interesting things about here. Look for the NY Time article on here past. more

It turns out the day I visited Linda Bean's was their opening day. You walk up to the counter to order and then sit down. They will bring your food to your table. You can sit indoor or outside. \r \r The Large Lobster Stew was pretty good and had large chunks of lobster in it. The Junior Lobster Roll has 1/8 pound of lobster meat. was good and had no fillers. Service was quick.\r \r While the food was good I thought it was a little pricey for fast food. I can get a lobster bisque with chunks of lobster served to me in a real dish for less money and get a view of the beach to boot. more

Protest this gaudy, monopolizing, conservative, anti gay fast food establishment! \r \r This fast food establishment single handedly took away the charm away from Delray's beautiful downtown, I thought a KFC moved into town. We should all protest this establishment and sore thumb on the avenue. \r \r http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/07/dining/07lobs.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&hpw more
