Great cheap eats without sacrificing ambiance! 2/4/2010

I stumbled on this restaurant while finding a spot close to a friends place and I hadn't even seen the 7x7 listing that the chicken was on the new '100 things to eat'. I was really impressed with the entire experience. We were seated quickly and ordered the much talked about Sangria (which is very tasty and at only $5 a glass, a great deal too) then ordered the half rotisserie chicken, which comes with 2 sides, and an order of the ceviche mixto. The ceviche was brought out almost immediately and was perfect. It had the right blend of citrus and also a spice to it that made it impossible to stop eating. The token item on the menu is the rotisserie chicken and it's well worth talking up. The spices they use on the skin are spicy and savory and the meat is just juicy enough. All and all, for 2 glasses of sangria each, ceviche, and chicken with sides we each walked out paying less than $30 each. Which for the quality of food, drinks and amazing service was very impressive. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a casual but still classy dining experience. Pros: Great food, reasonably priced, good atmosphere more

Delicious Peruvian Tapas 2/1/2009

The tapas were very tasty and the portions were great considering tapas are very small. We also had two of the deserts: bread pudding and torta fambrosa. My seven yar old daughter loved the lomito saltado. The service was stupendous and our waiter was Enrique and the Hostess was also very nice. I was pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I will certainly return with my family. 2/1/09 more

Quality and Price! 9/20/2008

For $9.50 I had a relaxed atmosphere, half of a rotisserie chicken with two side dishes. Impeccably clean, and waiters that are attentive to your every need. The side dishes are quite tasteful, with a string bean melody that is plentiful and tasty, yuca fries that surpass your typical American french fries. The half chicken is perfect for two and a third side dish would bring the meal down to less than $15, a deal for the ambiance and quality. The chicarron chicken is tasty and and excellent side dish if fried food is not an issue. Pros: Clean, well priced, ambiance, and friendly service Cons: None more

Delicious High-End Peruvian at Excellent Prices 8/25/2008

My partner and I went here last night for its opening weekend. The service was impeccable -- slightly ingratiating but not obsequious. For an apertif we had sangria and agreed that flavourwise it was as good as Cha-Cha-Cha's, athough the fruit chips were diced a little tiny for my taste (sometimes I'd eat an orange peel and get a little flavor jolt!). Also, a little too much ice, but otherwise very very delicious sangria. The ceviche pescado is delightful and served with jumbo maize kernels and roasted kernels (kind of like corn chips but tastier. The fish itself (halibut I think?) is fresh and tangy -- to die for. The Lomito Saltado (small grilled beef cubes and papas fritas) was smokey, delicious, sublime. But it was really the chicken hot tapas plate was meaty heaven (I don't remember the name of it, but there was only one chicken tapas plate) . I could eat just that for dinner and be satisfied! I'd highly recommend this place. They have delicious tapas at a very affordable price. In fact, you can go the non-tapas, under-$10 route by getting a half-chicken and two sides of Peruvian perfection. That's high-end taste at food-stall prices. Pros: Delicious food, excellent service and prices! Cons: Nada! more
