Forget Rice-A-Roni. The real San Francisco Treat is foccaccia from Liguria Bakery in the shadow of Coit Tower. I have been going here for thirty of their almost 100 years and have never been disappointed. Every morning they bake a fresh batch of foccaccia and close when it's gone. This is the classic case of doing just one thing extremel well. The standard flavors are plain, pizza, raisin and onion. Recently, they have been getting a little more creative and adding some specials. Every order is wrapped in paper by hand and tied up in string. One of life's wonderful, simple pleasures is to get a flat of warm, sweet raising foccaccia cut up and eat it as you walk through the streets of North Beach. Don't miss it.
Pros: The best foccaccia in the US
Cons: Parking can be tough
