Lightning Van Lines

Lightning Van lines did a great job. I was very worried before my move and searched with a lot of companies until I decided to go with the Lightning van lines. I was very happy with my decision. They came on time, took 5 hours to load my 3 bedroom house and delivered me 3 days after. The price was right and the service was great. I heard so much horror stories about moving companies and today I feel very lucky about my choice to move with this company. more

These guys were a huge help. I moved a big house in the peninsula, lots of *rap since I own also a "shop" in my garage. everything went smooth as much as possible and my new house starting to look better!! more

I wanted to drop a note to thank Lightning Van Lines for the wonderful job they did in moving me. Because of the delay in getting my notifications from our Homeowner's Association regarding the date I was required to move and from the construction company regarding the move back date, I realized that I was rushing them to do everything from estimates to scheduling the move date, out as well as back into my home. I referred to this company by a friend who used them a couple time before. The staff that came to my place was very courteous and took good care of my furniture, guided me for some delicate warping as I did not want to pay for their packing. They packed my TV as insurance covers only that they pack. I will use them again. more

I moved to the US a couple months ago and bought a small flat in the city. I called up a moving company to help me move from my apt. The service I got from them good, on time arrival the movers ware very careful with the furniture (they wrapped everything with special blankets and boxed all the fragile stuff I had. nice service and it was for a reasonable price. more

I was looking for moving companies in the bay area to move my house content to NM. This part of the relocation cost is the one that is taking the most years off my life. based on the reviews here and the courteous service that the sales rep. gave me I picked Lightning Van Lines for my move. I wasn't worried about the price as much as the quality of the service more

This was really my worst experience in moving ever. They came out 2 hours late. Then he asked me: could i use your tape for packing, or else i will charge you for the tape. I let him use my tape. Then they broke my table (a $500 table) because they took it out of the apartment unwrapped. They thought it was a short distance move, so they didn't need to wrap it. They put it upright in the hallway, andt then got more stuff out and knocked it down. It had tiles and they broke. The table is unusable anymore. After this happened, the main guy came to me and wanted me to sign on a paper saying that they will charge me no more that 3 times the quoted price. I was shocked!!!! He told his guys to stop working until I signed the paper. We had already signed the papers before, and after breaking the table, he wanted to charge me for the extra time they are spending on the phone with their manager to talk about my broken table and meanwhile, not doing any work. Then at the end, he wanted me to charge me 2 additional hours although they spend 1/2 hour extra. We went on an argument for 30 minutes about his charges. He said at some point: Don't make me lose my temper!!! I was furious then! I talked to his manager immediately, who then said they will charge me for an additional hour. They kep talking among themselves and not doing work at all! Only 1 mexican guy was working, the 2 guys were speaking in a strange foreign language all the time in front of me, and not working. I ended up helping the mexican guy and they were not working, just talking about how they want to charge me more money!!!!! This is the worst moving company ever!!!! Do no use them!!! Pros: no pros Cons: These are crooks and thieves. The will charge you for things they have not done and argue endlessly. more

I used these guys before for my move around the city and they ware great . They were running a little late this time but the move was done quick and under 2 hours with no accidents. I will definitely use them again. Even though they came in a little late they still finished before I needed it done which is what really matters. They kept me up to date on their arrival throughout the morning more

will only use this company if I ever move again. They did an awesome job, were very professional and courteous and strong. I had a horrible experience with a previous moving company and explained that I had a TV that weighed 300 lbs (main reason for hiring movers), the previous company dropped it twice, so I told these guys the story and they moved it like it was a piece of paper. Very nice guys I would recommend on them any day. The price you is fair , it is not the cheapest company in the bay area but you get what you pay for and you will be happy with the service. more

Very Friendly company with a good service. I was worried about hiring a mover every company I talked with gave me different prices and estimates. Lightning Van lines felt like one of the companies that will give me the right service.They explained me very clearly how the move day is going to work all the pricing was upfront and I know exactly what I am getting into. Not the first time we are moving but it is the first time we are using a service of a moving company. We needed to move out from our house in SF, we had tons of stairs so we needed more manpower then we could get from out friends... Overall, we couldn't have done it without them, and the rate seemed pretty reasonable. It made a move that would take us days just a few hours.... more

I'm a huge fan of Lightning Van Lines. They've moved us twice and were flawless each time. The extensive and detailed routine that they strictly follow means there's no room for error. They didn't get annoyed when i hadn't packed little toys and stupid things...they packed it for me. to be honest, I ate a sandwich and watched them do it. The price was quoted high from the beginning but it was also very accurate, no surprises no changes... more
