Life Time Fitness

I had the worst experiance at this fitness center. The sales person was rude. They don't care to protect members or prespective members privacy AT ALL!! They had a big sign in tablet that asked for all your contact info, email addresses, phone numbers home addresses. They will not speak to you unless you sign in on it... I explained that I did feel comfortable with all my info on display like that (I could have taken a pic with my phone and posted them here! (but I am an honest nice person.) After negotiating a rate (hated the used car salesman feel & them trying to say that they were way cheaper than a competitior that they aren't...) Then he puts in all my info from my drivers licence, gives me my total, checks my id to the card then wanted to take my ID with him to run my credit card? I asked why? They were going to copy then scan my drivers licence & Credit Card & keep copies in their system... That is online & not regulated! Who knows who could access it that it is a horrible thing to do & could easily lead to misuse or abuse of your information not to mention it would be an identity thiefs dream to get a part time job there... Regulated systems are hacked, breached, or just lost ALL THE TIME!! I said no to scaning my ID into their system, but they could gladly write down my DL# to prove they had checked it. The salesman said something rude as he tore up the membership cards he had made for me... I am appauled at the his behavior & his manager was as bad or worse!! more

So you don't think this is an isolated case please feel free to pull 'Consumer Complaints, through 'Google' to see this complaint is the norm, not the exception. Complaint: This place is a nightmare! They try and sell you on a fact that it's not really a contract but make it nearly impossible to cancel your EFT. I called on 3 different occasions and was advised on the 3rd that obviously I was lying since there was no documentation. I even went to the facility to turn in a written cancellation notice but was told you have to go through the #800 where I promptly got to sit on hold for over 10 minutes each time only to speak - this last time - to a rude rep named 'Kristy' I think. After I filed a complaint she immediately called me to further argue with me about the cancellation. I simply want the $44.99 taken off that was charged yesterday - 6/13/11- and, as with the month prior, I'm jumping through hoops and being advised that there is 'no documentation'. Several complaint boards state how LIFESTYLE FITNESS is a nightmare to cancel with so BUYER BEWARE - unless you have disposable income and lots of patience, go somewhere else because when you're ready to cancel they're going to make it as difficult as possible while charging you in the process. ***** BUYER BEWARE - WORST FACILITY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH ***** more
