My husband and I took our '05 Chevy Equinox to Liberty Chevy because the care was randomly stoping while we were driving it. The car even did this a couple of times while on the freeway. I didnt feel comfortable driving it after that happened so we needed it fixed ASAP. Liberty Chevy told us it would be $150 to diagnose the problem. We paid the $150, waited 3 hours, and were told it was the car's computer chip that was messed up. We asked how much it would cost to fix the problem, we were told $500 for the part and an additional $300 for labor. That was way beyond our price range so we drove it home in the same condition. When we got home we did some research, and found the exact same part for $90, called around and found a Chevy Dealer in Kerman that quoted us a price of $70 to program and install the computer. Had we paid the price Liberty Chevy was trying to get, we would have spent over $800! Not to meantion the amout we already paid to diagnose the problem!
