I went in last week to do my 15000 miles service. The service was good. Had a coupon for the oil change, so it was good. (a $5 off.. but.. it is what it is) Had to wait, because last time I went for the drop off.. they dropped me off last cuz they were more people towards the Hartford direction(even though I came first so I could reach office earlier). This time i thought I would wait rather than go for the Drop off from the service center. Anyways, I told the advisor that I had noticed some rust spots under the hood, told him to check it out. After the service was Done, they called me into the service area to show me the rust. Its been a while and the engine bay was kinda dirty and i was a hurry to reach office, so i was unable to find the spot(FYI, it was small spots, but i just wanted to show them, they are the experts . i didn't even complain or anything, just told them to take a look at it) . And this service adviser was kinda sarcastic and telling " wow.. guess the Rust is a disappearing rust" . Yeah, you would always presume the customer is stupid.. (cuz u r smart.. have seen many cars every day) but could you keep the thoughts in your mind? And.. you think the customer is so stupid so he cant differentiate rust from dirt? come on! That comment is not expected. Come on. I worked in the same field, even if the customers say BS, i think u need to keep your cool and treat him well. I didnt even get pissed.. i was like.. " ah.. its okay.. i will mark it next time and come.. i dnt care. i have warranty.." I was cool about it. but that comment... that was not expected. and I had questions like.. okay.. suppose I do Find rust.. what is the process... whats the next step.. Yes , he did explain.. but he was restless. I do as a lot of questions, cuz i payed for it. and i need to be answered nice. Last time too, the same happened with another Advisor. I was asking about some parts, and they were so restless in answering my questions. Guess its a common thing. I would never actually have gone back.. or go back.. if i didnt have a warranty and if wasnt the closest to my work. Cuz i want to be treated better. There is something called customer satisfaction right. Anyways, I was waiting for the car to come in. and saw it being pulled up by a service guy. Well.. I dont drive my car So rash.. but for that little distance, he was driving it little harsh( but yeah.. its someone else's car.. yes u have a lotta work to finish.. I get it.But please be gentle with someone baby :) ). And finally.. usually the service interval was every 7500. but this time I saw a sticker for 20000. I was never explained why the service interval suddenly changed to 5k. ( yeah i would think its because its winter) But someone had to explain. And.. thats my experience. And yeah, the service manager was good, calm. He was also there when we did the inspection.
