GREAT & CARING 5/26/2012

Dr. M was great and her staff were all very caring. I usually hate the dentist but they went out of their way to make me happy. I would highly recommend their office. Quality dental care ain't cheap but I'd pay for it anyday. more

Bad news for your wallet 5/6/2012

Was billed for work they said was supposed to be ""insurance"" 2 years after I left them for their billing incompetence originally. Don't use unless you like paying out lot's of cash, or going to collection. more

Never deal with again 5/6/2012

2 years after having billing problems, left and received over a $200 bill because according to their billing person, was""BILLED WRONG"" to insurance. Unfortunately destroyed bill with clerk's written note ""Not client's responsability"" after shreading older tax records (just over 2 years). Avoid if you don't like paying for lot's of stuff out of pocket. more

QUALITY DENTIST 1/24/2012

California smile serves up quality dentistry,. I'm happy to have found her, since she was able to recommend a successful, much less invasive procedure of buffing away a chip in my tooth more

Amazing 12/24/2011

I actually look forward to going to the dental office. !!!???\r Everyone is amazingly friendly and very good at making you feel comfortable. It barely even seems like a dentist's office. \r more

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 12/18/2011

The doctors are so gentle and efficient - the first time I went there I set in to get the crap scraped out of my mouth and bleed, but it barely felt like she did anything and she was like - ""all done."" \r highly highly recommended.\r more

BEST OF THE BEST 12/12/2011

I love the place even though Dr. al wants me to have gum surgery. :-O Everyone is very nice and helpful and will put you at ease as soon as you walk in. She helped me with a new filling you can't see which looks awesome. Some sort of ceramic or composite, I'm not 100% sure but it replaced that ugly old silver one that blinded my friends when I smiled. Nice and modern, not at all like where I used to go that was more like visiting! more

AMAZING 12/9/2011

Then, when I got sick and couldn't make my appointment, Dr.K took the time to call me and make sure I everything was okay with my teeth and to see if there was something she could suggest for me in the meantime. Amazing! more

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND CALIFORNIA SMILE 12/2/2011

hadn't seen a dentist in 7-8 years. I didn't have insurance for a long time, and was just plain scared after years of not going. I just started performing recently, so, I wanted to get a cleaning and improve my confidence in my smile. Everyone was very friendly, and Lety and Jenny did a great job of making me feel comfortable. Luckily, I didn't have any cavities. Dr. Eric was great as well. I would highly recommend California Smile more

Grateful New Patient 10/29/2011

I came in for my new patient exam last month and ther was the most professional staff I have ever met. more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HERE 10/21/2011

Dr. K took her time to answer all my questions and perform the exam, cleaning was very thorough and the staff were very nice. I have already referred Dr. K to two individuals. 5 stars all around. more

Finally pain free 10/20/2011

Finally pain free-thanks to Dr. K & her excellent staff--they will take great care of you and your mouth. more

Excellent Dentist 10/19/2011

Excellent Dentist\r Going to the Dentist is definitely not my favorite thing to do. When I made my appointment at California SmileI was expecting a typical dental office, hearing dreadful drilling noises, waiting a long time for the doctor or dental assistant to come out?etc. but my experience with Dr. K could not have been more pleasant! \r more

i appreciate my dentist 7/23/2011

\r Was awesome with the x-rays and got them done as quick as possible. Dr. K was humorous and quick. She answered questions about my concerns and let me know little things I should monitor. She didn't try t sell me anything and treated me like an informed consumer rather than someone she had to dumb things down for. Overall, I was really pleased and will be going back for my next cleaning in January.\r more

DO not go! 3/8/2011

I had been going to this office for years. I had my first 2 root canals here and a few years later I had to get them retreated because they did not do the root canal completely. They left some tissue left in the tooth and years later it became infected and I was in serious pain!!! I had to find a specialist with a microscope to do it right! I am in the process of talking to the owner to refund me or I'm taking her to small claims. Also, the person LEPI who is in charge of billing does a HORRIBLE job of calling you back - she doesn't. And when you do talk to her, she lacks customer service. I hope they shut down from lack of business. Too bad, because I used to like them. more

AVOID AT ALL COST! 3/1/2011

Not only the worst dentist office I've ever been to, but the worst one I can even imagine. First, supposedly the office is run by Susan Leung DDS, and her diplomas and certificates are on the wall, but the staff told me that she is retired and doesn't practice there anymore. That seems wrong, deceptive and/or illegal alone. Second, I've had several 9 am appointments, but the staff routinely doesn't show up and unlock the door until 9:15 or so. Third, the appointments take hours. They aren’t ready for you on time, then they leave you sitting in the chair waiting, and then whatever procedure is being done is done in little steps with long breaks between each step. One appointment took three hours, and it was never possible to get out of there in less than two hours. Fourth, the office staff is completely incompetent. I’ve had ten minute long arguments with the receptionist about whether I had made an upcoming appointment while she’s blinking at the screen saying it’s not in the system, only for her to finally find and confirm it. I requested a copy of my file and x-rays, for which they made me fill out a long form, only to be told three months later that no one had done a thing with the form and it was just sitting in a box. Staff will routinely wonder into the examination rooms and ask whether you are ready for some procedure which isn’t why you came. Fifth, they don’t document things properly. One appointment was for the express purpose of getting a referral to an oral surgeon for my kids. Having experienced so many problems with the place I told everyone from the receptionist, to the billing woman, to the dentist to his face before he examined my kids that the primary reason I was there was for a referral, only to have them not make a note of it in the charts. They required me to make another appointment so my kids could be reevaluated before they would make a referral. I went to that office four times for an oral surgeon referral and never got one. Sixth, they push unnecessary and expensive procedures. For one example: “special” cleaning not covered by insurance. Another: The first doctor I saw there said I needed four fillings. I showed the x-rays taken by California Smile in my file to my previous dentist and he could only see the need for one filling. I switched to a different California Smile dentist and she concurred with my previous dentist that only one filling was necessary. Seventh, they perform procedures without a patient’s informed consent. I went for a filling, and when I left they presented me with a bill for a filling and lining. I said no one had ever said a word to me about a lining. They proceeded to argue with me that I had been informed of it. I demanded to see the treatment plan, and when they brought it to me I had never seen it before and it did not have my signature where it is supposed to be before treatment. I still have no idea what a lining is. Finally, today, I show up for an appointment with my kids, for a repeat evaluation by them to get a referral to an oral surgeon and cleanings, ten minutes before 9 am, they arrive at 9:10, and they inform me that they canceled my appointment and dropped me as a patient by informing my insurance company. No one called me. I suppose that's because I have the nerve to ask why they were performing procedures on me for which I didn't consent. All I can say is they’ve done me a favor. These negative reviews are all completely deserved. This place is a disaster that should be avoided at all cost. more
