Five star staff. Five star doctor. Five star service. 10/28/2011

Hands down the most pleasant medical staff I have seen. For me, the doctor experience started on the phone, even before I came in. The woman I made my appointment with was professional and accommodating. When she called me a couple weeks later to remind me of my appointment she made sure to answer my questions. The day of my appointment, parking was easy across the street in a public lot. The office is located in a well-maintained modern building. The waiting room was comfortable with plenty of current magazines and a flat screen TV. The receptionist was pleasant and made sure I had my forms and a cup of tea. She was also discreet, taking care to keep our conversation private. When I was led to my consultation room, I saw that it was immaculate and looked new. I was there to have a rather embarrassing mole removed so I was a little uncomfortable at first. My discomfort went away thanks to Dr. Bussell's excellent bedside manner. She was discreet, professional and did everything to put me at ease. I did not feel any pain during the actual mole removal. They did a biopsy of my mole, which I think is standard. After that, I wanted to make the most of my appointment and ask the doctor some general questions. She took her time to speak with me so I didn't feel rushed. We talked about my skin habits and she suggested easy ways to take better care of my skin at home (simple remedies like changing my pillow case more often to help with acne and what to do about my chronically dry hands). The medical assistant who was in the room with me also deserves special recognition. One of these five stars is for her. After my appointment, I remembered that I wanted to ask about dermabraison versus laser for acne scars so I came back and she gave me a comprehensive comparison, discussing the pros and cons. I decided to make another appointment for dermabraison so I'll be back. more

A dermatologist for African-Americans 9/14/2011

Finally a dermatologist for African-Americans! I am very picky and sensitive about my dermatologist because I can scar very easily (keloid scars and dark discoloration) and in the past I have felt like doctors didn't understand that. Dr. Bussell however has proven to me that there are ways to treat black skin that work! I explained my concerns to her and was at first weary but she got it and I can see with the results that this dermatology office understands my skin type. I have had mole removals, peels and treatment for dark spots and my skin is looking uniform and fresh. Thank goodness!! more

Dr. Bussell is a very skilled physician 5/20/2011

Dr. Bussell is a very skilled physician. Hers is a terrific, efficient and immaculate office. Dr. Bussell has worked wonders on my skin and I am forever grateful! My adult acne is now under control as is my eczema thanks to their gentle but effective treatment plans. Dr. Bussell has an excellent bedside manner. She takes time to listen to patients and explain procedures in simple language. She is a miracle-worker and the proof is in the pudding: my skin has never looked better! My face is clear of acne, wrinkles are minimized and I look fresh and healthy. Since we've gotten the acne under control, I now go in from time to time for chemical peels or other cosmetic injections to make me look my very best (and youngest). The staff is pleasant, bubbly and efficient and the office itself is very modern, clean and stylish. For skin care of any kind, I highly recommend Dr. Bussell and Beverly Hills Dermatology Consultants. more

It took me a while but I finally found the very best dermatology office in LA! I have been coming for years. With one or two exceptions, I am always seen on time. I am welcomd like a VIP (everyone knows and remembers me) although I assure you I am not famous. more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! 1/31/2011

I ONLY go to Dr. Bussell's office and my skin has never looked better! They know how to make you feel at home. The place is lovely and the team is bubbly and nice. I have seen Dr. Bussell and the various PA's over the years. Now the PA I see is Crystal, who is just adorable, very knowledgeable and efficient. What I really appreciate as well is how the doctor just knows what's wrong with your right away. Over the years, I have had suspicious moles, rashes and stubborn acne and at BHDC, they have always explained things thoroughly, then given me treatment that has been fast and effective. Mole removal is quick, painless and very necessary in southern California. A little tip: I try to schedule my appointments on Mondays because I have found that I have little to no wait. Saturdays probably have the longest wait. The location is ideal. It is in the nice part of Beverly Hills in the Wells Fargo building. There are many restaurants nearby and you are not far from Rodeo Drive. City parking is easy and just across the street. more

EXCELLENT OFFICE 3/6/2010

This office is so efficient. I can call for same day appointments. The medical staff is very knowledgeable and sweet. The doctors and physician assistants are professional and have great bed side manner. I first came in here for acne problems, after using a specific regimen I was recommended, my face has never looked better! Now I get my full body mole exam once a year. They are very aggressive when it comes to cancer prevention (which I need b/c I was a sun worshipper) I know that a lot of reviews show how long the wait is. Great Experience 12/31/2009

I've been a patient here for about 5 years. I suffer with chronic acne and moles. Since being a patient here my skin looks wonderful with no marks, scars or blemish. I would definately recomend this office. The nurses are very friendly and professional as well as the staff. more

Wonderful Dermatology office 12/29/2009

I have had problems with my skin (acne) for years. I had been treated at other Dermatology offices over the past few years, and I saw little or no improvement. A co-worker recommended that I make an appointment at Beverly Hills Dermatology. I am so glad that I made that telephone call. My skin is clearing up after a few months of treatments. This office is located in the heart of Beverly Hills near almost everything! It has a terrific staff that is very accomodating. There prices beat nearly all others and they really seem to care about their patients needs. Will definately return. Finally a place that works! 2/20/2009

Great staff. Knowledable providers. They were the only ones able to finally clear up my face after years of years of battling and seeing other dermatologists who never even touched my skin, only were happy to put me on antibiotics. I also had Botox which lasted months and was painless because they use a baby needle, and I didn't even get a bruise as I had expected! I'm definitely going back and recommend it to my friends and family! Pros: caring. Cons: one hour parking more

I've been going to Beverly Hills Dermatology for a year now and I just love it. I had a real problem with acne and the doctors at BH Derm have really helped me. The staff is friendly and the doctor worked with me to create a personalized regimen. I've really seen results!!!!!! more

Please Reconsider 11/20/2008

I went there for oily skin and had chemical peels for about a year. The lead doctor at that time was Dr. Bussell who I never met until the ""mishap"" started to occur -- the skin on my face started to disintegrate in chunks literally. The doctor matter of factly told me there was nothing she could do for me as ""I would need plastic surgery."" That happened about 20 years ago. The doctor was right with that assessment. Permanently disfigured I remain. Beware of doctors who have a bevy of assistants do these ""routine"" procedures. In hindsight, of course, as I spend hours covering up the loss chunks of flesh that used to be my face, how I wish my only problem were just oily skin. You only have one face. Choose what you do to it and who you let work on it wisely. Pros: 1. You Can Google Bussell, 2. Karma 3. extremely disappointing internet service 9/26/2008

do not order online from their website. i suggest going to the office. my girlfriend from la went and she loved it. however, when i attempted to purchase something from the east coast, my apt number didn't register. i ordered on the 9th of sept. i didn't even receive a tracking number e-mail. i had to call the office today and the rude receptionist informed me that i had to track the package and call ups personally. i went online while on the phone with her and told her that it stated that the package was being delivered back to la that day. she still argued that i needed to PERSONALLY ring up ups and ask them where the package was. and that if the package did happen to go back to the office that i needed to pay additional shipping charges. so not worth the headache. A well run dermatology office. Excellant! 5/28/2008

This office was recommended to me by a women in my photography class. I had several moles, skin tags and sun spots. She has none. I asked about her glowing skin and she told me that she has been a client of Dr. Bussell and her staff for years and she was sure that I would love them all. She was so correct. In one appointment, 3 moles and etc. were removed. The women, Pam I think, was friendly and extremely helpful. EXCELLENT TREATMENTS AND STAFF...HORRIBLE PHYSICIAN!!!! 3/27/2008

I all of a sudden starting breaking out at the ripe ole age of 25 and found BH Dermatology through a co-worker of mine, I called them and whomever I spoke with on the phone was polite and helpful (I think her name was Dayna) and got me an appt. almost immediately. I came in for my appointment, had to wait an hour (but come to find out, that is how the office is run: poorly), but then I met with a medical assistant (I think her name was Ashley) who was great and very understanding of my problem and nowfound bad skin. I then met with Pam, one of the P.A.s...she is absolutely phenomenal! She is adorable, super sweet, very well educated and knowledgeable of the dermatological field! She listened to my every problem (even when it went beyond skincare). She went on to give me an acid peel, which was interesting and a little intense but I could tell it was working, sure enough in just a few days I was peeling away...Long story short, in no more than 6 months I am free and clear of any and all skin problems I had, in fact, my skin has never looked better! I have since stopped going there, (but still use the amazing products) after the day that I was unfortunate enough to meet the doctor. She was rude, unprofessional, awful, spoke down to her staff, took a phone call on one of her 4 cell phones she carries with her, recommended harsh and expensive products and treatments to me, also recommended that I speak to a plastic surgery friend of hers regarding some procedure that had nothing whatsoever to do with dermatology and I actually took quite a bit of offense to her comments as well. She was also wearing what looked like some sort of house arrest ankle bracelet! I then decided to Google her and see what other users had to say about her...I highly recommend doing the same, you will see why, I was shocked! All in all...great treatments and staff (especially Pam) but do NOT waste your time waiting to see Dr. Letantia Bussell! Love the fillers, botox and peels 1/21/2008

I have several friend that have been long time patients of Dr. Bussell. We had to wait about a half hour, but the office had cookies and tea. Free parking accross the street. I had a peel, a little botox and retilin, I think.. and they zapped off some skin tags.. all in one visit. My insurance covered some of the sun damage. Pros: parking, cookies, tea, insurance Cons: ate too many cookies more

This a positive office and they have removed every sun spot on my body.. and more.. The peels make me glow. I have sent my entire family to Dr. Bussell and her staff. Very energetic and trained staff. Pros: they will do as much work in a session that I can handle. Cons: none so far more

Melinda is the PA to see 8/23/2007

I had a great first experience at this office. It was my first time getting Botox and Juvederm done even though I had been contemplating it for years. The front office was very nice and got me into the room on time. Melinda, one of the doctor's assistants, came in with a huge smile on her face. I expressed my nervousness to her, and she calmed all my fears by patiently explaining the procedure and what to expect. She also told me what all me options were and we picked my products according to what I need. The actual injections were a piece of cake! She has the most gentle hands. I later found out that she is the only injector with cosmetic experience. We also figured out a treatment plan for my acne - I'm already clearing up after only a couple weeks! Avoid this office!!! 7/11/2007

This has to be one of the worst experiences of my life. I had to wait over an hour and a half for a SCHEDULED appointment. When I asked when I would be seen (I had to get back to work ) the male receptionist was extremely rude and arrogant. When Dr. Bussell finally got around to seeing me, she was unapologetic and at one point answered her cell phone for a PERSONAL call. I will NEVER go back to this office - proceed with caution.
