I'm so sick of going to Leon's, specifically making an order and getting the complete opposite !!!!!!!!!!! Yes Leons is GREAT ... BUT THE EMPLOYEES are STUPID !!!!!! Leon's Customer For Life 10/30/2008

Having grown up in Bay View there are a few things in my life that are staples; Sweet Rolls, Friday Fish Frys, the South Shore Water Frolics, and Leon's Custard Stand. If I had to use one word to describe Leon's I would have to say. ""quality"". I always see the delivery trucks out back bringing in the fresh ingredients, and you can taste them in their custard. My favorites would have to be the Leon's Special which is a super sundae with their yummy salted pecans. If Mint is the Flavor of the Day, I would highly recommend a Mint Hot Fudge Sundae. It's absolutely delicious. My fiance is prone to a chocolate custard sundae with the strawberry sauce. Ya the parking can be a pain, but the line moves quickly and the prices and custard are worth the wait. Thanks Leon's for sticking to your guns, maintaining your quality and menu over the years, and of course for continuing to support the South Shore Frolics. BEST Ice Cream in Town! 9/28/2008

I must say that I love Leon's frozen custard even better than Kopps! Service is ok, but you're in and out, so it isn't a big deal to get someone that doesn't care to serve you, its just an ice cream cone. Parking is sometimes tricky when its packed in the summer, but it always works out. I love that they are open super late! I am more of a ""flavor of the day person"" when it comes to custard, but here, the vanilla and chocolate are SO good, I actually just get, vanilla and/or chocolate! Leon's cannot be beat in the entire Milwaukee area. The burgers are great, but make sure you ask to get ""the works"" in order to really enjoy it. All of their ice cream creations are awesome. However, you can ask for a simple vanilla cone, and still feel on top of the world. When I'm there I feel as though it is 1955 and I'm living in the era of my parents. The workers are very curteous in spite of how busy it gets, and I am always pleased with the attention given towards cleanliness and order. Vintage custard stand 11/9/2005

I grew up in Milwaukee and relocated to Ohio for several years. It was then that I really appreciated Leon's frozen custard! Everytime my family and I returned to Milwaukee we always made a point of stopping at Leon's. My mother in law remembers skipping school and going to Leons! It's true that it's the only custard stand where people stand in line when it's 30 below zero! Now I'm living in Lacrosse, a mere 3.5 hour drive from Leon's! more

LEON'S IS THE BEST 7/4/2004

For the past 18 years, my mother and I have been eating at Leon's every weekend. The food gets better and better every day. NO other ice cream (Ben & Jerrys included) even comes close to comparing to Leon's. It has become a landmark in Milwaukee and I hope they never close! My reward was a stop at Leon's for a hot fudge sundae. I stopped there recently, and it was as good as ever. I challenge anyone to name a restaurant that has lasted that long. I live in Chicago, and every few weeks i drive up to milwaukee just to get some Leon's Frozen Custard.. Its the best around and driving that 90+ miles is sure worth it!!! just today i ""converted"" four of my friends.. they cant wait to go up there again. more

Jewel of the South Side 6/3/2003

Having grown up just a mile or so away from Leon's, this place is quite dear to my heart. Only on the South Side is there a line for frozen custard when it's 30 below zero. But who could resist the creamiest, tastiest custard in town? Butter Pec, Vanilla, and Cinnemon are their best flavors. Also, the Spanish Burgers and Turtle Sundays are outstanding. Try the Lime Soda float for a real treat. Mmm... do I have a craving now or what! more

This is a wonderful place to get fabulous frozen custard. The hot dogs are really great too. It was always a real treat to go to Leon's on a hot summer night and get a hot dog and frozen custard. Nectar of the Gods 8/26/2002

While we no longer are within easy driving distance of Leon's, we make it a point to visit there every time we are near Milwaukee, and if we know of anyone who can do so, we have them bring back some of their Custard. It is simply unique in its rich flavor, creamy texture and fantastic flavor. Our favorite, Butter Pecan, is simply ""Nectar of the Gods."" It's ""only"" a drive in, but it is THE drive in.
