I made a reservation for a small Christmas party of 10 people for Sat., Dec. 6th at 6pm. I made the reservation at least two weeks in advance and had asked a lot of questions concerning gratuity, fees for a group of that size and how food would be served and billed for 10 people. We arrived and had slow service due to a chef quitting that night. Finally, after three different people's orders being wrong and one of us not getting to eat at all, we asked to speak with a manager. We told the manager of our bad service and he told us again about the chef and offered no apologies or compensation for at least the meal that was wrong. We just wanted to leave and asked for our checks. The manager informed us that it would all be on one check and could not split it between the 5 couples. I was not informed of this ""policy"" when I spoke with him on the phone. He told us it was on their website, which it is not. He also said there would be 22% gratuity for our party, which was also not specified by the person I spoke with when making the reservation. He told us that they get ripped off by people just throwing cash down to pay for the one bill, yet none of us were using cash. We all needed to pay by credit card separately. The manager started raising his voice in the middle of the restaurant and insulting us saying we were all there for a ""free meal"". We asked to speak with the owner and insisted on getting the bills split up. They allowed two of us to go back and speak with the owners. They told us gratuity was 20%, a different amount than their manager had specified. They were also of little help and insulted us again by saying it was our fault when we made the reservation. Meanwhile, the manager was threatening to call the cops on us, for what we weren't sure. They finally took our credit cards and had them for over 30 minutes before we were able to leave the restaurant. Other guests saw what was transpiring and asked us what was happening and left before ordering as well.
Pros: Ambience - great location and feel
Cons: Service - The owner and his wife need to watch Gordan Ramsey
