TERRIBLE VET!!!!!! I took my puggle to get neutered and tattooed. They called and said tattoo machine was broken and they were not able to tattoo. So no problem. However, when I got him home and checked his surgery area I was disgusted and shocked. About the size of a adult male hand was where they did indeed try to tattoo him and continued to try over and over when it was apparent with the first mark the tattoo was clearly not working. So not only did they lie to me and say that there were unable to tattoo because they sure did try, the tattoo is grotesque. My sister had her dog neutered and tattooed and the comparison is outrageous. Please if you love your hairy family member DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. I am not one to leave feedback but everyone should be warned. more

My problems with this vet started when we had to travel with our puppy earlier this year. After confirming with our airline that all we need is our puppies vaccination records, the vet was originally unwilling to release them. Instead they insisted that he get a full ""travel"" work up that would require a chip implant and another phyisical exam. The cost would have been several hundred dollars. Our puppy had already been seen at the clinic twice in the previous three months. When I explained the airline policy they basically told me the airline is wrong and they have no idea what they are talking about. After literally pulling teeth they finally agreed to release his vaccination records but told me that we were ""playing Russian Roulette"". The airline was right, they were wrong.\r \r Now today I recieved a rejection letter for our puppies heart worm medication from 1800 pet meds. Since there was a two month lapse in his heart worm meds, they are refusing to refill the script until they see him again for another 50 dollar visit. Crooks!!!! \r \r Stay away. Run far and fast. These vets are not good people. more

We have been taking our golden retriever and black lab to Leighow for years now. They have been their vet since they were only weeks old. Dr. Kitchen was recommended as an experienced, friendly, and extremely proficient vet in our area. We have also seen Dr. Smith and Dr. Butler and are very happy with our experiences. We currently request Dr. Butler but if our schedules don't work, we'll gladly see the other vets as well. One memorable experience was when our golden was very young and had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. Dr. Kitchen spent considerable time researching an effective alternative. We were very appreciative of her extra effort on our behalf. Our dogs are also big fans of Leighow. They get excited to go to the vet! Maybe it's the treats or maybe it's Kim who works up front and has been super friendly with them since we first brought them in as pups. We also have kenneled our dogs at Leighow with good results. We have since discovered a very responsible and capable dog and house sitter who works there at Leighow. We send all our friends with pets to Leighow. Even my wife's parents have switched from taking their cats to a vet in Bloom, where they live and have taken them for years, to Leighow instead! What an asset to the Danville community! Keep up the good work. more

I have to say, I've had the complete opposite experience as the previous reviewer. We couldn't be happier with Leighow! We moved to the Danville area about a year ago and got a puppy. It was our first time having a dog, so there was a steep learning curve! After researching local vets, I heard that Leighow was the best. I always have a fantastic experience, and my pup has been treated wonderfully. When we had her spayed, they were sure to call us after the surgery to let us know she was doing fine. Great place, great prices, great veterinarians. more

I took my two healthy, happy 1 year old chow chow puppies in to get neutered and they let one of them die during the procedure. They didn't even have the decency to call me and tell me. They waited to for me to get worried that I hasn't received a call, and call them. Then they weren't even sure if they could foot the bill! This is all I have the energy to say. Our puppy will be missed more

My bunny was in an accident about two weeks ago, and her front leg was broken. We took her to a local vet who was just awful and treated me like a moron because I was having a bunny looked at. He wrapped her leg and two days later she chewed it off and wasn't moving it. I looked into other vets an Leighow was the cheapest and on the phone, nicest! So I took my bun up to Leighow. When we pulled in, the building looked a little sketchy, not like the big fancy vets we had been to in the past, but OH. MY. WORD. do NOT judge a book by it's cover!! The vet was absolutely WONDERFUL! So sweet, very knowledgeable and really great with my bun. She also didn't ""push"" products on us! She believes heavily in letting your animals heal naturally, and not loading them down with meds or unnecessary procedures. She was also very kind and didn't treat myself or my boyfriend like stupid college kids (unlike a few of the others I talked to). I will not go to another vet besides them! They were just great. And an office visit only cost 35$, ten dollars or MORE less than all the others around here. Highly recommended! more

I have been to Leighow Vet a few times, and I liked their service and appreciated the kindness of the staff. Just today I had an emergency with my cat, so I called the office. After a few minutes on hold, a doctor answered and gave me extremely helpful answers to my problems.
