Used to be our favorite place to shop for grocery! 3/25/2011

Really. This place started clean and nice few years ago. They owner did great job for all these years until he starts new stores. I think the owner need to manage the place better. It smells bad sometimes. The price has also gone up too. We now have different choice few miles away. However, Lee Lee has more variety than any other places. If you want something from different countries in Asia, this is definitely the place you need to go. It is still crowded and packed with people from all over the countries over weekend. The best time to shop there without the bad smell is early morning until afternoon around 1:30PM. more

Lee Lee's Oriental Supermarket 11/27/2010

Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket offers variety, convenience and accessibility for valley cooks that seek ingredients that cannot be found in regular grocery stores. Perhaps the most pointed and beneficial characteristic that Lee Lee’s brings to the valley is that it provides meats, produce and grocery items that cannot be found in regular grocery stores. For example, if I wanted to find ground chicken at my local Fry’s, I may or may not be able to find it, but it is always available and always fresh at Lee Lee’s. Lee Lee’s offers blue crab, a whole ocean of different fish varieties, and cuts of meat that cannot be found at regular grocery stores. They offer gai lan, nira, several different types of tofu and kimchee, three different types of eggplant, etc. Finding imported ingredients is easy in Lee Lee’s because their shelves are organized by country and are kept in clean order. For example, if I wanted to look for a particular type of Japanese-style buckwheat noodle, I can venture to the Japanese aisle and easily find what I am looking for. Within each aisle, items are organized together according to function and type. For example, dried food items such as specific types of rice and noodles can be found in one area within an aisle, while sauces and flavorings are found in another. Located on the cross streets of Dobson and Warner in the East Valley and on Cactus and 75th Ave in the West valley, Lee Lee’s offers convenience and accessibility for valley residents. Most residents; however decide to make the trek to these locations on the weekends and so it can be really crowded. This perhaps is the only drawback of this grocery store, as navigating a filled cart around droves of weekend shoppers can be cumbersome. All in all, I would recommend this grocery store to experimental cooks who are tired of making spaghetti every night. I think that Lee Lee’s offers diversity and a flavor that the valley is truly grateful for. more

An Asian Delight 8/24/2010

For someone who loves Asian cooking or has special dietary needs, Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket is a dream come true. Located in Chandler, Arizona, Lee Lee's is convenient, affordable, and well-stocked.\r \r Upon entering, you are greeted by bags upon bags of different kinds of rice. Past the rice is the produce section. Here is where you will find any kind of root, herb, or green vegetable your heart desires. The vegetables are well displayed and are fresh. The names are listed for those not familiar with the unusual choices. Beyond the produce is the fish counter. Fresh takes on a whole new meaning here. Choose your fish from one of many large tanks and it can be cleaned and even cooked for you on the spot. In addition to the tanks, a wide selection of exotic fish and other meats are under glass for easy viewing. If you are searching for an unusual item from another region of the world, it might also be found here as Lee Lee organizes its aisles by countries. Hungry for Hawaiian, Australian, or Korean food? Chances are, you'll find something at Lee Lee's. Gluten-free items and a vegetarian aisle make this a store for anyones tastes.\r \r I recommend Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket to anyone wishing to expand their Asian cooking skills or try new foods inexpensively. The massive variety of imported cuisine is sure to delight your taste buds and your wallet. more

DO NOT buy NON food Item from Lee Lee 12/13/2008

I have bought a water boiler from them and use it for less than 2 weeks and I am not satiesfy with the product due to some salt stain inside the water boiler. I brought into the market and they promise to send it for repair and will be back for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they didn't call and I went to the store and check it out. After search for my item from their store, the boiler has NOT been sent back to the manifacturer. One of the worker took it out and told me that this is due to the salt contain in the water in Arizona state and is not their problem. There is no instruction say that I can't use normal water to boil the water. \r First, they never send it back ( without any apology ) and blame it on me for not using it correctly. I demand a refund and they told me any NON food item can ONLY be refunded IF it has NOT been used. \r How can you know or satisfy with the product if you don't even use it at the first place? \r They have fresh food but DO NOT buy any NON food item from them. They will not allow you to return the item if u have try it!! Pros: Fresh Food Cons: NON FOOD item cannot be return if you have try it! more
