Learning Star Preschool

The WORST daycare I have ever experienced. I wish I could rate it ZERO stars! \r \r I thought other reviewers were exaggerating, but unfortunately, they weren't. \r \r 1.They gave my daughter the most horrible diaper rash I have ever seen, and managed to do it in one day. I sent her to school with a clean bum and when I picked her up she had blisters. They promised to change her every 1.5 hours, but the daily sheet they sent home showed her going 2- 3.5 hours without a change (even with BMs).I had to put her on antibiotics to get rid of the rash, this caused her to have loose stools. So they made me leave work and come pick her up because she had two loose BMs in a row. She's one for goodness sake, that's normal! Even my daughter's doctor thought it was ridiculous. Then they had the nerve to CHARGE me for that day.\r \r 2. We went on vacation and they CHARGED us! I even gave them notice, AND asked my daughter's teacher if we could be charged and was told no. \r \r 3. I went in one time and the more

my whole experience at learning Star Preschool has been very positive. The first call and the first visit, director was very informative and welcomed all of our questions. The staffs are so positive and treats everyone with great respect. You are greeted with a smile in the morning and the smell of warm food and greeted with a smile when you return. What a great place for children!! am really glade my kids are there. more

Such a shame that the town of Cary and the State allows this center to continue to be in business. The director and teachers are terrible and fake. My children were neglected and when I picked them up they would be filthy from head to toe. There was never any artwork sent home. No progress reports. Any notices that were sent home was misspelled and these are the people that are supposed to be "teaching" your children. The quality of character they hire is questionable. Take your children ANYWHERE but here. more

This center needs to be closed, it is outrageous that they are rated 4 stars. The place is filthy and run down. The director could care less about what is going on. The teachers she keeps closest to her are the least trustworthy and will lie to your face. The fact that they call themselves a preschool is a joke. Every single day I regret the time my children spent there. You cannot rely on the state to protect your children from this place. Please do your research before sending your child there. more

My children attended this daycare for a couple of years. My son was harmed while in their care. Please don't put your children in this daycare. If you think that you will find the truth by going on the state daycare violation website you are wrong. You must have evidence that you can prove in court in order to substantiate any claims. Without a video tape, you are out of luck. My son will be attending therapy to get over his experience there. I wish I were exaggerating. more

My daughter went to Learning Star for 4 years. Now that my son is getting ready to start preschool, Learning Star is my first choice for him, too. My daughter had major separation anxiety issues when she was little, and Dilek and her stuff were always there to ease my daughter into her routine. I liked this center from the very beginning. If you are considering bringing your kids to Learning Star, just pay them a visit and see for yourselves how spacious, clean, and friendly this place is! Pros: Accomodating, friendly Cons: None that I know of more

My child goes there and has a great time. we have been there since 02/08 without incident. She enjoys her time there and everytime I go it smells and is clean. Dilek is warm and friendly and so are the other staff. Pros: Clean nice center, open until 6;30 Cons: not open on the weekends more

Literally! I don't have a child in this day care, but I have a friend that does, and I overhear EVERYDAY the horror stories from parents who are stuck with this daycare simply because they can't afford to leave. I have heard the daycare doesn't respect religious beliefs, and has forced several students to abandon their religions and conform to the day care menu. I have seen bumps and bites, bruises, and the dirtiest children in Cary! You see parents dropping off beautiful, clean children, and picking up RAGAMUFFINS. The neglect and pure disdain for professionalism in this particular day care is DISGRACEFUL! There is no way that this person should be in business at all with her hocus pocus accounting, much less that she doesn't care about the kids or the parents. The one good review on here is so OBVIOUSLY written by her. I don't know ANYONE who agrees with any of the good stuff, cause it just doesn't exist. RUN, RUN, RUN, AWAY FROM THE LEARNING STAR (learning what? How to be dirty and cheaters?) I would never ever let my child stay at the learning star where the wicked witch of the west resides, and her teachers hate her, and parents talk, back stab, and call the state. How much longer will the town of Cary put up with such a scandal? I am a parent of a child that attends Learning Star Preschool, and my experience with all of the staff and other parents has been delightful so far. The teachers and director work very hard to make it a pleasant experience for the parents. A little too hard to be berated online by a disgruntled parent, in my opinion. They always have fun activities planned and all of the teachers are certified, some of them working in the Early Childhood field for over 10 years. I love my child's teacher, she is so sweet and caring, my child always comes home happy, well fed, maybe a little dirty and tired from playing so hard!! But other than that, I drop my child off in the morning with no tears, and that is very important to me. She WANTS to be there, and I get that same impression from the entire staff as well. I am very pleased with this center, and if you go to NCCHILDCARE (dot) NET you will see that there have not been many (if any) serious complaints. I despise this center and think it something should be done. They are unprofessional and neglectful. The director shows up with ridiculous bills for outrageous amounts, then when questioned, gets defensive and likes to "corner her prey". They are constantly out of ratio and has the older children with the younger children when the teacher is too lazy to "handle" the child that is acting out. No wonder they are acting out-negative attention is better than no attention! I have had so many incidents with this center, I stress out about how my children are being cared for and worry about whether the director is going to corner me over money she claims I owe, but can't tell me where or how I owe that money. I am so tired of the constant drama that goes on in that place. Leaving your child with someone else is always stressful, but imagine how it is to leave your child/ren with people you don't trust. They have teachers in and out, there is no stability whatsoever. They get shuffled all around to fit the needs of the director. It is horribly filthy.
