A superb menu of provincial French cooking--\r We have never been disappointed with this fine restaurant that has moved two blocks to the heart of Coral Gables. The dishes we had the night before last included a very delicate and fresh-tasting fillet of sole, a tender fillet mignon in a sumptuous green pepper sauce, separate dishes of veal kidney (rognon) in a creamy mustard sauce, on the one hand, and a delightful port with mushroom sauce on the other. The main courses come with a fresh green salad on a flavorful mustard vinaigrette. Some of us started with a French onion soup, not salty and with a topped with a perfectly broiled cheese in classic fashion. And, we could not resist the chocolate/banana crepe with brandy flambe. We chose a nice, inexpensive bottle of Bordeaux from their reasonably priced list. While the service is entirely without pretense, the staff was attentive from start to finish. more

The new location is great. Right in the middle of Miracle Mile there is a parking garage right behind the restaurant. Started with the reliably delicious Lobster Bisque. The duck was truly amazing with a complex layer of tastes. The filet was merely very good with a sauce that was a bit overpowering. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Overall an excellent meal. more

Not Even for Special Occacion 12/3/2009

The food is as good as any french restaurant but I would rather go to a good restaurant where they treat you like a person not like an ignorant american. I didn't even see this in Paris. The decor is just O.K., like all the other theme restaurants (or Epcot). I would prefer to go to a restaurant that had better prices and better service for the quality of food. The worse part was that they made me rush through my meal because the kitchen was closing. I realize there were very few people there for a Saturday night but all the more reason to treat us well. I think they've been there so long, service doesn't matter to them,. Pros: Great Food Cons: They make you feel like they are doing you a favor. more

Complacent, indifferent and overpriced 6/7/2008

I don't know how this place could possibly have a wait on a Friday except to venture that being on the corner of Miracle Mile and LeJeune means having a cash cow. The service was indifferent from the get go and it took about 30 minutes for the server to take our order. The wine list is weak and they are one of those restaurants that let people know they didn't pay enough for ""good"" wine by giving them cheaper glasses. Shouldn't everything on their wine list be worthy of a proper glass? The presentation of the food was unappetizing. it looks like what people used to serve at weddings fifteen years ago - protein and a cauliflower puree from a little jell-o mold. Toast points for pate' were an inch thick and there was only one for each person on the table. Could we order more? I suppose - if someone stopped by the table to see how everything was. The salads at our table had different lettuce for each of us and were drowned by 10x more dressing than necessary. My meat was undercooked (I ordered MR and it was red all the way - it looked like it had been par-cooked to less than rare and then sliced). I sent it back and half came out MR and half was still less than rare. My plate was 3/4 full when it was taken away, without comment or interest, by the waiter. When you run a French place, you're saying that you're passionate about food and (maybe?) service. These people couldn't care less. For $28/entree, the service should be twice as good, there should be thought in the presentation, the food should be cooked to temperature and treating people with care shouldn't be optional. There are thirty other restaurants within a block - I'll never go here again. Pros: Poor service. Weak cooking. Poor presentation. Cons: Location. Ambience. more

What Not to Eat 1/29/2006

I do not recommend this restaurant. It is not worth it. The service isn't good, the food is average to say the least, and the people are not friendly. I was served a glass of wine filled with residue (I guess the bottle had been sitting for quiet some time) and they did not even make the slightest attempt to apologize or make up for it. The ambience was an older crowd (in their 80's & 90's) honestly...we were the youngest ones there. Again, unless you are 80 years old and have no tastebuds, you do not want to go here. Pros: good location Cons: bad service, bland food, no ambience more
