I used to visit this bakery about once every week or so. I would buy a loaf of bread and indulge in an almond croissant. However, recently when I went in, I saw one of the employe...

A MUST GO each time I go to Pike Place 10/27/2009

Everytime I'm at Pike Place either by myself enjoying the market or with friends who are out of town, i must stop by this bakery and pick up a pastry and cup of coffee. The perfect way to stop in the midst of a busy day, sit, relax, enjoy good eats & treats and then be on my way again. The experience is even better if you bring a friend to share with :) more

Smooth Latte 10/27/2009

Beautiful latte art and very smooth coffee. The aroma in the store is great. I didn't try the pastries this time, but I will definitely go back. more

Tres bien! 5/5/2006

What can I say that hasn't already been said? This place is simply divine for a truly French experience in the heart of Seattle. Their coffee and pastries are fantastic, making this a perfect spot to grab breakfast before you start your day. Try to sit at the long counter facing the street for a fun people watching experience. more

Can't you just smell the baguettes 5/1/2006

Pike Place Market has a few lures for me: Le Panier is one of them. Similar to other cosmopolitan stores, this bakery makes me feel like I'm in France. Except I can order things other than croissants and no one laughs. It's busy on the weekends, but during the weekdays a little less so. more

Very French indeed! 3/10/2006

LOVE the palmiers, the delicious desserts, the croissants, the breads...the smells! Hard to maneuver inside since their lines are long-ish. But they compensate for this by having plenty of staff on hand to keep everything flowing smoothly. The baguettes are true French baguettes, not the fake American kind found in Safeway. I wish Cucina Fresca was still there, since I used to buy my fresh pasta and sauces from them, then head to Le Panier for breads and desserts, and DeLaurenti's for the wine. Pike Place Market rocks! Wish there was a Le Panier in Tacoma.....My mom started me on this great tradition and when I take my kids up to Seattle, we always stop here for a little treat. more

J'aime bien le Patisserie 8/17/2005

Seattle is pretty short on fine French Bakeries, and even though Le Panier has an awful location it is well worth going to for some of the best pastry in town. I know that going down to Pike's Place Market if you don't live in downtown is a hastle, but after polishing of a Pain Raisin and a cup of espresso you should be pretty happy. Don't forget to pick up a baguette on your way out the door, it will make for an excellent sandwich that will leave you begging for more. more

Perfect for breakfast 8/16/2005

The coffee is fantastic. The pastries are simply divine. Put the two together, and you're transported to a gare in Paris or Nice, having breakfast and waiting for your train to arrive. Le Panier serves Cafe Umbria coffee and the foam on top is divine. The croissants, pains au chocolate, chocolatines, and breads are out of this world. The prices are moderate, and it has a busy-bakery/cafe vibe to it. Come for breakfast, and get a sandwich ($5) to take with you for lunch. Try the brie. It's good. more

Yummy! 7/15/2005

This bakery has been a family favorite of ours for years. We usually head down on the weekend for croissants and coffee. It can be busy sometimes but we have always been able to get a table if one person scouts while the other buys the food. It smells so good and is great for people watching. I love their raspberry jam and all of there sandwiches are delicious. My husband ALWAYS gets the almond croissant. more
