Le Pain could use some marketing efforts 10/10/2010

Often businesses 'open their door' because they have 'location' and expect customers to just come in because of the location, with no regard to quality of product, or customer service. UNfortunately Le Pain has fallen into a rut and is no longer providing the best quality product, and certainly is pricing themselves out of the market. I hear this from lots of folks. For the quality it is NOT worth the price. One key thing to having a Cafe` in West Hollywood is to have FREE WiFi, high quality product, and exemplary customer service, especially if you have the chutzpa to charge high prices in this economy! more

Symply Delicious! 7/24/2010

Le Pain Quotidien has a great selection of fresh breads, pastries, croissants, brioches, pains aux raisins, apple turnovers, belgian waffles... It's a great place to go to for breakfast and lunch (salads, tartines, omelets, soups). I also like to go there to meet my friends (nice outdoor area at the melrose location) and enjoy a coffee and pastries in the afternoon with them! Pros: Great place for breakfast, casual lunch more

Good food, pleasant atmosphere 5/6/2008

I stopped at this place randomly with a friend and ended up being very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was quaint and peaceful with a European feel. I had the mushroom soup, both creamy and rich, served with crusty fresh bread, and a pomegranate mimosa which was perfect, not too sweet. Service was friendly and prompt and their prices reasonable. Their desserts looked amazing, next time I'll have to try one. Pros: good food, good drinks, nice setting Cons: parking on weekends more

Great for a lite bite! 5/11/2007

I really like LPQ on Melrose. The patio is lovely and lends itself well to a leisurely lunch. The breads are all tasty, and I love the jams and nutella that accompany. The salads and tartines are light and fresh -- I especially like the tuna tartine, which is fresh and lemony, and the curry chicken pops with flavor. And it leaves room for cappucino and dessert, of which the cherry clafoutis and belgian waffle with berries are standouts. Bon Apetit! Pros: Patio Seating, Food more

Alright 9/17/2006

We dined at Le Pain because Urthh down the street was packed. We ordered an egg salad sandwich which was french style, open faced. It was delicious but the portion was very small for a price like that. The latte is decorated with a heart! The coffee was good. We also had a pistachio tart which was alright. The ambience is really nice. The table next to ours ordered the meats and cheese platter and it comes with a big basket of bread. I think that would have been a better deal and you can try the variety of meats and cheeses. Pros: Ambience Cons: Price more

Cute location; needs work 8/7/2006

I've frequented the Bev Hills location and thought this would be the same, but I can't tell if it's because there is less business here, but the selection of food and pastries was surprisingly bleak compared to the other location. Perhaps I went at a bad time, but I would have thought Thurs night would have been busy. It's an adorable and quaint place and the service was attentive, but something was clearly missing. I had the mediterranean platter and it was just OK. Pros: Cute Place; Good Service Cons: Slim Selection of Baked Goods; Food was Mediocre more

had fun today 7/19/2005

I had sooo! much fun today with my friends at le pain, in West hollywwod. Seemed busy, but good energy and a wonderfull ambience. I had a very tasty and refreshing gaspacio soup, in my opinion the best in town, followed by the veggie quiche which it was out of this world. Did I mentioned I had a glass of wine? It was white and all the way from France, light and crisp, my wonderfull server said was called gentil and only $6.00 a glass. My first time at le pain and I am looking forward going back soon Pros: crayons for kids, good food, friendly staff Cons: to much fun more

What Happened? 6/12/2005

I have been a customer at Le Pain NY and LA for years. I always thought the food was fair, the ambiance was rustic, and the service was good; in fact, the best thing about the place. However, as of late, the feel of the restaurant has changed. Especially the location in west Hollywood, which has lost a lot of charm. The staff has changed in the past few weeks and it is not the same charming, forward, and energetic staff that it was just a few months ago. Also, the baked goods are always different, not consitant at all. Even the bread is different daily. For a coffee its good, even for a quick bite, but for the prices they ask, it should be great and the service should be a little less fake and more genuine and rustic, just the way it was a few months ago. -mmiller Pros: Ambiance, chic, rustic Cons: food, tasteless, inconsitant more

Baguette of love... 5/26/2003

Okay, let me qualify this by stating that all I've had so far is the mousse cake (great) a muffin (fair) and the star of the show: The French Baguette. Can one love a loaf of bread? If so, I've fallen hard. Pity the Atkins followers who will never know such dreaminess in this simple carbohydrate wonder! more
