Bad for delivery! Ordered 1 beef and 1 chicken kebob. Did not get any rice on the side, and the so called vegetable mix consisted of 1/2 tomato -- unless you also consider 1/2 of a lemon a vegetable and that 1/2 lemon + 1/2 tomato = 1 vegetable mix (I don't). Pita bread was cold and obviously not heated before it left the restaurant. Hummus was ok. All the food was cold when it arrived. Basically a $50 meal which consisted of cold meat with cold pita bread. Def. wont get more of my money and I'm almost sorry I tipped the delivery guy. more

I think if these guys pull it together, they'll have a really special place. But right now, they need some help. The menu items are great in terms of selection, but everything tastes bland. Use spices, guys! A chicken kebab should have taste, and just plain rice? Add almonds, saffron, wild cherries...something! And you should let people know you don't yet have a liquor license. No hours posted on your website? Why? I was told you want to add many new dishes from other countries. I would suggest perfecting the ones you have first. The space is great, the food is below average, but get cooks who know what they are doing, and you'll have a gem! I'm rooting for you! And don't do Groupon until you have it perfected, or you're over. more

Close your eyes and imagine the perfect Kabob 9/24/2010

The two owners circulate, greeting the guests and making sure everyone feels at home. In fact, I know their names (Sevak and Ara) because they came to our table - with a warmth and kindness not typically felt in Los Angeles - and introduced themselves. The room is modern yet comfortable. The food is of the highest quality and you can tell. I have never had filet kabob that was this tender, juicy and flavorful. I will probably be back within the next week to get my meat on... plenty of veggie dishes, and their side of vegetables is seasoned in a way that actually makes you want to eat them... the prices are medium-low, so you don't have to worry about a big bill. I am not sure if I love this place more because of the owners, location, ambiance, or the food - all of them get high high scores. There is parking in the back, so it's easy in-and-out. If you like mediterranean food, then this place is not to be missed. On your drive home you will be licking your chops and thinking about your next visit. more

Hidden Gem on Wilshire Blvd 8/1/2010

My boyfriend and I spotted Layla while we were driving down Wilshire a few days ago, and were curious enough to try it for dinner tonight. The uniquely set restaurant in an indoor/outdoor space is easy to miss from the street, but totally worth the find! The food was all delicious and light, and felt totally guilt-free. Their hummus was wonderful, as was the Layla and Mediterranean salad. They even gave us free olive tapenade! The waitress was very welcoming and outgoing, and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time there! We will certainly be back. Pros: refreshing & light fare, warm and friendly service Cons: parking (along wilshire blvd) more

I can't wait to try everything on their menu. I'm sure we'll be loyal customers for a long time to come. Pros: Food, Service, Price more
