I am a very experienced real estate investor and recently completed my first transaction with Kriss Law. All I have to say is that if you're savy, like convenience and good price, and appreciate competence, use this firm.\r \r The purchase just completed is my 44th property, the next 44 buys will be through Kriss Law.\r \r Great job guys!! more

Busy Physicians 11/4/2011

My husband and I are both busy physician traveling much of the week. We recently refinanced both our Nantucket home and Boston condominium. Attorney David Cuttler met with me to sign the documents in Boston and another of Kriss Law's attorneys met my husband at our home on the Island. I have never heard of Attorneys who work like this. Many of our physician friends are currently refinanced and we are recomending David to all of them!! more

Thanks so much!! 8/22/2011

I'm not the kind of person who usually posts on sites like this. However, I was googling Kriss Law Office and ran into this forum. I wanted to let everyone in internet land know that I am the owner of over 25 properties and Kriss' office handles all of my legal real estate work. They have met me at the airport, the beach, my office, and my home to have me sign papers. Great law firm with nice people. more

Experience 8/22/2011

My wife and I just completed a very complex condominium conversion, purchase, and sale. Attorney David Cuttler at Kriss Law made a complex transaction very simple for us. Kudos to you David. I would recommend this firm to anyone!! more

Recomendation 8/2/2011

I just purchased a home in Newton and wanted to say thank you to Marlo at Krisslaw for outstanding service and attention to detail. Although our new house was very expensive, the fees from Krisslaw were very reasonable and they made the closing convenient for everyone. I have never been on this site before but I was Googling Krisslaw and saw some reviews. I was very impressed and recommend anyone who's buying a house to call this firm. more

Kriss Law is the BEST!! 7/25/2011

I am one of the top Realtors in New England and I want to recommend Kriss Law to anyone who is buying or selling in Massachusetts!! I just referred my 3rd Buyer to Scott and his team and again, the service was amazing. My client and I receive phone calls back from the Attorneys at Kriss Law over the weekend and after 8pm at night. I have used many many law firms in Boston for many years. As of six months ago, I decided there was no reason to use anyone other than Kriss Law. more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE AT LAW OFFICES OF SCOTT D. KRISS 4/1/2011

Let me first say that I have never felt it necessary to write a review of a business, but after my experience with The Law Offices of Scott D. Kriss Atlantic Closing and Escrow, I feel compelled to do so.\r \r We were referred to them by our bank when we refinanced our home. Things were going well with our refinance until this law firm got involved. The Paralegal was rude and did not return phone calls. My husband requested a copy of the HUD statement days before our closing, but she never responded. She finally sent it an hour before we were to sign the paperwork at our closing. We had already paid our taxes and homeowner's insurance but it said we had not in the HUD. When my husband called her she said she was busy and would call back. She never did. He called another time and she said it was too late to change the HUD. We were supposed to pay a minimal closing cost but ended up having to pay thousands when we already paid our bills!\r \r They sent a lawyer who had no clue abou this to our house for the closing. He said we would need a certified bank check for 2,200.00! How are we supposed to get a bank check at 7pm?! Furthermore, we already paid the bills they charged us for! \r \r The lawyer agreed that we had been treated poorly and said he would have the HUD changed. Although we did not want to sign the paperwork, we were assured we would receive a corrected HUD. Well this never happened! We are now waiting on 2 checks for taxes and insurance because we paid twice! \r \r This law office is rude and clueless. They just want you to sign the papers and will lie to you. I advise that you do not use The Law Offices of Scott D. Kriss Atlantic Title and Escrow. Don't let what happend to us happen to you. There are plenty of law firms that are honest and treat you with respect and this is not one of them.\r \r more

Completely Unsatsified 11/18/2010

I used Kriss Law for a closing in the fall of 2010; I would not use them again. \r As part of the closing I mailed them a check for $3213.06 on September 17th which they claim did not arrive until the week of November 8th. While the check was lost, the Kriss Law Vice President and Chief Operating Officer informed me that I must tender them another $3,213.06 quickly; there were no other options and technically I was in default of my loan. I was required to come up with another $3,213.06. Compounding the matter, I had sent them a bank check which (like all bank checks) could not be cancelled until 90 days after it was issued meaning the $3,213.06 from the first check was tied up and inaccessible until December. I spent hours trying to find the lost check and working with my bank to find a solution to the 90 day window without success. Fortunately, I was able to raise another $3,213.06 quickly at great inconvenience and I sent Kriss Law a second bank check under the agreement confirmed by Kriss Law that should the first check arrive they would not cash it but return it to me so that I could present it to my bank and have access to those founds. Amazingly, on November 17th (two months after I mailed the first check and well after my closing) my bank informed me the first check was presented for deposit by Kriss Law. When I told the Kriss Law VP and Chief Operating Officer that my bank had received the check I was told that he had asked his staff and they denied presenting my check for deposit. After spending yet another morning on this issue I sent images of the deposited first check to the same Kriss Law VP and Chief Operating Officer, after which he admitted that the check had arrived, they deposited it in error and they would return the funds.\r \r I find this service unacceptable; I did not appreciate the way I was treated by Kriss Law and I will not use them for any future transactions. \r more

Wrong 9/7/2010

I read Cmatthias review of Scott Kriss's office when I was directed to the office by my lender on our recent purchase transaction. Despite what CMatthias says we had a great experience with the office. Our attorney Scott Taylor did a fantastic job representing us, explained everything and walked us through the whole closing so that we were comfortable. The paralegal Renee did an equally fine job staying in touch wiuth us, explaining all of the amounts and making sure we were all set with our insurance. This was our first experience in buying a home and I can highly reccomend Scott Kriss's offce if you need assistance. Maybe Cmatthias caught them on a bad day. Tim more

Mostly incompetent 3/15/2010

My wife and I were first-time home buyers and used the Law Offices of Scott D. Kriss when buying our house via a short sale. Overall our experience using this law firm was poor. The purchase and sale agreement was obviously drafted too quickly and without any sort of proofreading. There were many spelling mistakes, our current address was incorrect, and the total purchase price was wrong by a factor of 1,000 ($233 million instead of $233,000 -- ouch!). After everything was worked out, he apologized and offered to waive his fee for the preparation of this document. We were pleased with this resolution and took him at his word that there would be no further complications. However, when it came time to close, the HUD statement was incorrect and was given to us with only 2 hours to spare before the closing. His communication with our mortgage broker was nonexistent so there were many problems relating to our mortgage details on the HUD. The attorney present at our closing was someone I had never met or interacted with before that day and he understandably had no knowledge of the prior difficulties we had encountered with our transaction. In addition, Scott Kriss would not return phone calls. When he was in his office (which was rarely) I could typically reach him at his desk phone, but I asked him a dozen or more times via email to call me and I never once got a call back. On one occasion he did reply to one of my emails and told me he'd call me the following morning, but he never did; I had to call him. I would not recommend the Law Offices of Scott D. Kriss. If you use their services, anticipate having to review everything they produce and staying on top of them to get things done correctly and in a timely manner. Pros: Refunded some of their fees after messing up Cons: Everything else more
