This guy is an unhelpful guy at all. I didnt wanna sue or write like this but my friends suggested me to do it for warning you who might hire this guy. 1)Ben Tao didn't tell me right away that I officially got E2 visa, instead I got a phone call from my company. Which might not bother you at all but since I paid $5000 to this guy personally, I wanted him to assist me more personally and loyally. 2)Here is the worst part. This guy didn't tell me what I was asking him about clearly. I asked him about my E2 visa to be proved physically such as ID or passport attachment or anything for anytime when I take a flight someday. And I asked him using "International airplane" which means abroad other countries for me into the question that I did. Because I needed to make sure I can go back to my country and even return without anything to show at the airport. And he said "yes, you can take international flights and nothing problem". I felt still doubtful but since he is a "lawyer" so I didn't ask him again to not be rude. And the problem was happened that I didn't wanna happen THE MOST. When I needed to go back to my country to attend my brother's wedding for 10 days. On the way going back to the US, at an airport, they sopped me because my visa has been expired since I left the US once. So as you can imagine, I lost my job and count even go back to pack all my stuffs or anything at all. 3)I asked Ben Tao "why you didn't tell me that I can not come back here once I leave when I asked you long ago?" And he said "you didn't ask me clearly. International planes are even exist inside the US" with no apology or concern at all. When I attached our old conversations and started to talk with him about that, he goes "Stop doing this. I will sue you." And when I asked him about getting a new visa again he just replied me that I have to pay $5000 again and do the all paper work all alone if I still wanna get the visa again. But one lawyer that I asked afterwords, he said "that's a lie. It wont be that much. Here is another lie. more

My wife and I had green cards from an excellent Californian lawyer, then we moved to Seattle and before we moved again to Vancouver Canada as, I became ill and lost my job, we asked Ben Tao to process the reentry permits for us. He did the first on, we stayed in Vancouver 2 years, the reentry visas expired, so we paid him his fee and asked for a renewal. We had been waiting 3 months and no reentry visas, but we wanted to travel to the US, so we contacted Ben and asked if we could travel. He said sure, just tell them the application is 'under process'. I got to the Blaine crossing and the official said there's nothing on the computer. Then I was sent to secondary where I was told my green card was invalid (it was supposed to expire 2011, this was April 2008). They bullied me and said either I have to voluntarily surrender my card or I would be arrested there on the spot (no, I could not contact my lawyer they said) and I would have to stay in custody until a hearing date before a judge could be set. I surrendered the card (although it is not a voluntary surrender I assure you) here are the facts from immigration: 1. a reentry permit for a green card that expires has NO STATUS 2. GREEN CARD status is revoked while application is 'in process' 3. Any green card holder traveling while an application is in process can and will have their green card seized 4. The presentation of the CIS receipt would not have changed anything. 5. As my lawyer, you gave us incorrect advice on how to proceed under these conditions 6. The amount of the fee we paid was immaterial, we paid the fee and you agreed to provide the service, not only is the service incomplete but there is evidence if misconduct and willful negligence When my wife asked you "can we travel" The correct answer is not "yes, at the border your application will show 'in process' but "yes, but you can and will lose your green card", "so if you want to keep your green card dont travel" You are providing blatantly incorrect and misleading information that most nearly resulted in me being charged as a felon Ben Tao is a thief, he stole fees from us without delivering the permit, he gave us bad advice, he has hung up on me and now he refuses to speak to me. He even wanted more fees to fix the problem he created. A very dangerous, unstable lawyer. Not worth it. Move on. more

Ben Tao is a lawyer who specializes in immigration. he can speak Japanese, too. His fee is a little cheaper than most of the others that I have heard of. I've been using him for visa and green card-related issues for a few years now, and he has been friendly and nice. more
