Laven, Paul, Do - Desert Valley Family Medicine

Stay away! I have been going to Desert Valley for over 5 years. They took some lab test for Cholesterol and Thyroid screenings. When they submitted the claims they submitted the claims for a diagnosis that I wasn't even there for. I was there only to have these prescriptions refilled. I called and they said they could do nothing about it since the Dr. I saw was no longer there. Then they told me That I need to track down the paperwork from the lab and bring it to them. i was shocked since they were the one's who submitted it wrong in the first place. I did call the lab and got the paperwork mailed and hand walked the paperwork in. They said a medical assistant would need to look at it and they would call me back that day. No calls back and it has been over 2 weeks. I called this morning and spoke to a woman named Wendy who was rude and told me it has ""only been 2 weeks"". Now it has been turned over to a 3rd party collector. This woman was extremely rude and said they would have someone call me back and hung up on me. I would not recommend this office any longer. Their customer service is horrific and all the good Dr's have left. more

I have been going to this practice for nearly 25 years. When they were at Dobson and Elliot it seemed the practice ran more smoothly. Now when you attempt to call for an appointment the phone is busy for hours. They do not answer the phone during their normal business hours as indicated on the recording and the recording says call back during business hours. The practitioners seem to care less about the patient, but rather just want to move throught the appointment and get on to the next perhaps to get more billings. Even at the first appointment of the day they are always late to call you in minimally 30 minutes. I have waited up to 1.5 hours past my appointment time if I don't request that first appointment. more

I started going to Dr Paul Laven as a patient just after he took over the practice from Dr Edson back in the early 90's. Dr Laven cared for my husband and two children from childhood until present. All four of us have chosen to stay under Dr Laven's care, and we have also seen Dr Sun Jones on many occasions. Of course, we have had to wait our turn to get in to see either dr but we have never been treated with anything other than dignity and timeliness when we have called for an appt or prescription. Today was a perfert example: I called Dr Laven's office in Chandler at 3:15 pm to ask Dr Laven to write me a new prescription for medication that I had run out of. His PA called me back at 4:45 to tell me the prescription was ready to be picked up. I then picked up by prescription by 5:20 pm the same day, today, and I call that pretty darned efficient. I do not recommend Desert Valley Family Medicine! I have been to several locations, the one in Mesa and the one in Chandler. Both offices have rude staff members. I have gone here for over 7 years and as of today I will no longer be a Patient and don't recommend it to anyone. more

I have only experienced a lack of resolve at Desert Valeey Family Medicine at the 2045 Dobson Rd, Chandler, AZ location. whenever I call, I am never able to speak to the person I am asking for and when I leave a message, I never receive a return phone call. Wait times are long and office staff are rude. I was told I would have to make an appointment to resolve a billing issue, and was told I would be charged for an office visit for this appointment! I do not recommend this office. more
