Nice but not during colder weather 9/7/2005

I must say, I was very impressed with the Lauritzen Gardens. The buildings are well constructed and the landscape is very well done. The main building also houses a gift shop and small cafeteria. My one complaint about this place, however is that it open year round yet most of it is outdoors. I went with my family in April when it was very cold and not much was in bloom. Since only a few exhibits are actually indoors, it was disappointing. more

Beautiful Gardens! 8/5/2005

The Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha are a beautiful place to go to retreat from the world for a little while. There are many different flower gardens, both indoor and outdoor so you can go any time during the year. I love the hibiscus plants, they remind me of being on a tropical island. There is a nominal admission fee, but if you just need to get away from it all for a little while, this is the place to go. I have spent countless lunch hours there just soaking in the beauty of it all! more
