good food, order the Bajo 6/13/2007

What other reviewers have said, I agree is all true. I've eaten here many times because I work in the neighborhood. This place is a ""lunchtime"" restaurant. You won't find dinner here. They have specials for each day of the week, and for instance the Wednesday special was Pollo entomatado or bistek. But today they were out of Bistek. But I recommend that you call and check when they have Bajo available and get that. It's a good value and enough to feed two people if they are not BIG eaters. Includes platanos, salad, beef and yuca. Also check out the central american drinks, maybe you've never heard of one or two, like they have tamarindo, chilla, horchata(nicaraguan style, not Mexican style) and other drinks. Carry your food to the table on a tray. Pros: authentic Nicaraguan, basic but consistent service Cons: could be long line and crowded, not much parking more

just like home 8/5/2005

i just recently visited Las Tinajas after not being there since i was a child. the food was great..the price is decent and i felt like i was in Nicaragua. being Nicaraguan myself, i grew up with mom's cooking..and eating at this restaurant reminded me very much of home. it's a great restaurant to dine at if you have never tried Nicaraguan food!!.. more

U need to eat here. 1/1/2004

If you want to experience real authentic Nicaraguan Tropical and Typical Cuisine You Need to eat a this place... I can't get enough of this place ... I reccomended highly... If and when you go you need to order the ""Antojitos"" for your first meal. Pros: Savory, Variety, Inexpensive Cons: Crowded, Parking, Limited Seating more
