I have a goose neck lamp that needed a new shade. I have been shopping around for awhile. I was referred to The Lampshade Gallery by another lamp store in Denver. I don't live in the immediate area so, my brother was kind enough to get the shade for me. He placed the call after the shop opened today on Saturday 9/12/09. Sure enough before he had even described my lamp, the proprietress said, ""We don't have it."" How the hell does she know and how the hell does that store stay in business? She said my lamp is a foreign make and I was better off buying another lamp. He informed her that I like this particular lamp. She retorted, ""Well, I'm sure she does!"" He can tell you this... that call was over in a few minutes.\r
He had emailed to tell me what had been said. So, when I read it, I knew needed to call them to say what I thought of their customer service. I was direct & tactful & got my point across that I thought that being not being very helpful, rude & short is not a good way to conduct business and/or stay in business, especially in this economy! Of course, being a customized lamp shade store may be at their advantage.\r
By the way, my brother was able to tinker with another shade I had brought down & he was able to set the shade on the lamp.\r
