Finding a service for custom lampshades is difficult so I was thrilled to find this shop. However, I have had an extremely bad experience. I spent $141.70 on a single contemporary lampshade ONLY because I thought it would exactly match my old one (which was damaged) as I have two of them and did not want mismatched shades. Because the store is not open in the evenings and I live quite far from it, my college aged daughter dropped off the damaged shade for me. She specifically told them to match the old shade. When I went to pick it up (pre-paid), it was not a matching fabric and had a band around the top and bottom edging which was not on the original- it significantly changes the look. When I asked about it, the sales person fetched the owner. The owner was very matter of fact, and both were seemingly annoyed that they had to answer questions. The owner rudely told me that the fabric they used could not be placed on the shade the way I wanted it. When I asked about fabric that WOULD work, she said, “you would not like it” and she walked away. The sales person told me she remembered that my daughter picked out the fabric. My daughter would never have done that - that is way out of her comfort zone. She simply told them to match the old one. When I asked if she told my daughter that the edging would be different, she said, “well that was a long time ago, I can’t remember.” Hmmm, selective memory? I’ll spare you all the additional details but know that this is not a customer friendly place - and I was not a crazy, rude customer. I was calm but expressed my concern. They didn’t care that I am not happy, and feel that I wasted my money. In a subsequent call I made to them to follow up, they still made no attempt at customer service. The owner actually gave the phone to the sales person instead of talking to me. I was told that if I want to drive all the way back, they would discuss my concerns with me. My advice is to shop somewhere else or have them sign a document agreeing to your requirements.
