Lampe, Matt, Dvm Dfw Absolute Equine

I've used Dr. Lampe for several years. He is knowledgeable and has no problem explaining what the problem is in detail and what the solution is. He is very competent and caring. I have 4 horses and I don't want any other vet but him to take care of them. I have that much trust in him. \r I'm not sure about Snooki's experience, but I have found that Dr Lampe explains everything in an easy to understand manner. If he says something I don't understand, I ask more questions. He has no problem taking more time to make sure I understand what is going on and what treatment my horse(s) need. I would recommend/endorse him to anyone with horses no matter if they are new to horses or not. Most of my friends also use Dr. Lampe. more

7/8/12\r I've used Dr. Matt Lampe for 7 years. He's a very competent, knowledgeable and cares deeply for our equine friends. He has an unbelieveable stallside manner and my TB mare who can be a pill loves him and will let him do anything to her. He's also committed to doing the best for your horse and has gone above and beyond for mine. 2 years ago this August my Arab mare Lily developed what we thought was collic. He stayed with us from 6 pm until 1 in the morning until she was stabalized. We thought she was doing ok, but in the morning I had to call him again. He was back to my farm and made arrangements to go to the Sports Medicine Equine Emergency in Weatherford. Unfortunately we lost her to an undetectable and symptom free benign fatty adipose tissue tumor (no symptoms of illness until the day before she died). Even though I lost her, he was there for us working through the night and then back the next day to make sure she received the best treatment. I have nothing but positive things to say about him and the care he gives my horses. more

Matt has been my vet for several years and is the most caring and effective vet I have ever had. My mares are unique physically and he has adapted to their issues and provided an excellant education along the way. You will not find a vet more invested in the welfare of your horse than Matt. more

I am only willing to say that you need to find another vet for your horse other than Dr. Lampe. I have not had a great experience with him and I don't know of anyone who has. Not a ""beginner friendly horse person"" vet. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Everything else more
