Having grown up in Latham, I know the Lamp Post well. Our family, my mother , and her mother before her had purchased many lamps and shades from this high end specialty store. On Saturday March 7th I walked into the store to purchase a harp riser, it is a small piece of hardware. I was told by the owner ""we can not simply hand those out"", to which i responded, ""I intend to pay for it"", the owner rudely informed me that those were reserved for shades that were purchased at The Lamp Post( did the thought ever cross her mind that I knew they had this secialty item, perhaps because they were in use with shades that that had been purchased by our family over generations... Bingo!!) at which time she flipped her hand towards the door dismissing me ,as she turned her back. I left never to return, not ever, not my family, or friends, and perhaps anyone who reads this. I have, in my 51 years never been treated so rudely, completely unprovolked. In todays business climate she must be so confident of continued success, as to treat customers, squared, rudely with rare abandon. From this point forward ( I hope to have a good 25 years left!) If anyone has a ""story"" about rude treatment , I will recount that March 7th morning as if had just happened yesterday. Owning and operating an independent insurance agency in both Albany and Troy for nearly 20 years has taught me word of mouth advertising is truly timeless. Shame on you.
Pros: None that I was able to determine
Cons: Incredibly rude demeaning owner
