Lakeview Golf Resort & The Scanticon Conference Center

Where to start with the disappointment in this place? My son and future daughter-in-law booked the resort for their special wedding day a year prior to the actual wedding date. When my husband and I went to book the rehearsal dinner and make the deposit we were told we would have access to the Reflections Ballroom for rehearsal and the Grand ballroom to decorate the day before the wedding. Less than three weeks before the wedding we were informed we would not have access to either of those ballrooms, Grand ballroom to decorate until 11pm Friday night! Reflections ballroom for rehearsal at 2pm Friday! No one in the wedding party will even be there at 2pm!!! For the money that this young couple put out to have the wedding of their dreams,they are getting nothing but a horrible nightmare. I wouldn't reccomend lake view resort for any occasion unless you want to end up in tears!! Lakeview used to be a great resort, but anymore it's not really a resort. It's more of a Super 8 that they try to charge you like it's a Marriott. The restaurants aren't very good and the "business center" is just employee's offices. They over charge for everything. I know a friend who got a rash after swimming in their indoor pool. The indoor pool looks really dirty, as does the hot tub. The best view you'll get is treetops. No "lake view" here. more

My family stayed there when I came to college for orientation. There were not many people staying there and we got a room way far away from everything. Which in this maze of a hotel, is a terrible thing! We actually got lost a few times because of all the twists and mini staircases placed sparadically around the halls. The golf course is awesome. Legends (the bar and grill) is pretty nice. The "fine dining" restaurant Reflections, is horrible. The indoor pool is beyond dirty, as is the hot tub. The rooms are in need of repair and redecorating. Way too high of a price for what you get!! more
