I would not recommend Lakeside Animal Hospital to anyone. This vet office will overcharge you everytime you come in. My wife was the one that was commonly taking the dog to the vet since I work during the days. We bought the ""puppy pack"" when our dog was 8 weeks old and were told that this purchase included the neuter. Well when it came time to have our dog neutered, they told us one price on the phone, then decided that the surgery could not be done and charged us 100 bucks for that visit and said come back the following visit, then attempted to charge us $300 for a neuter that was supposed to be included in the $400 waste of money puppy pack we purchased. Well I was the one that picked up the dog so I dealt with the bill. A worm medicine that the vet tacked on to the bill (for worms that they couldn't even find) costs $85. I was already infuriated that I had to even pay to have my dog neutered since I had the mindset that it was covered. I googled the worm medicine and found the same exact tablets for 3.99 a piece. When this vet was trying to charge me $85 for 4 pills!!! That is quite a mark up eh? They then tried to to charge me $25 for another medicine that they tacked on to my bill. Well I googled that pill as well and found it for under 75 cents each pill. And they tried to charge me over $5 per pill. Thats more than human medicine!! I would have thought that the office manager would have handled the situation very differently since my wife takes our dog to the vet every other month but she handled the entire case very unprofessionally. My wife loves our dog and this vet knew that, so they told her whatever they felt like to get her to freak out and cough up whatever money needed to get our dog ""healed."" We didn't leave this place without a $200 bill. Its absolutely overpriced. We were also lied to multiple times. The secretary would tell us how horrible things were one minute, then the doctor would say something completely different...after 20 minutes of questioning on why we needed to pay thousands of dollars to have our dog TESTED for a condition when no signs were even present. \r My advice to you:\r 1. Shop around when looking for a vet. You do not want a vet that is going to break your bank every time you dog gets sick, or a vet that is going to give you a list and quote of a solid 10 other treatments and medicine that they ""highly recommend"" doing to keep your dog alive. (Who's going to pick death for their dog??)\r 2. Do not pay the added hundreds of dollars in antibiotics, worm medicine, pain pills, etc. They are marking each pill up over 400%. Publix fills Canine Antibiotics for FREE!!!!!!\r 3. Don't take your animals to Lakeside Animal Hospital because they will COMPLETELY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.\r \r I have proof of the medicine mark ups if anyone is interested in seeing the bills. \r \r \r \r more

I've been taking my pets to Lakeside Animal Hospital for years, and it's true that the bills are expensive, but that's not my sole criteria for rating Lakeside as it seems to be for a couple of others here. The care my pets have received is always top notch (sorry ccie9360, gotta disagree with you on the service), and is the reason why I continue to bring my pets to Lakeside. I could probably find another vet who is cheaper, but I'd rather still with a vet that I know and trust. more

People that Care 4/6/2012

I would recommend Lakeside Animal Hospital to anyone in need of a good place to take their pets. The doctors and staff are always caring and willing to answer any concerns that arise, whether in person or over the phone. My two pets (Misty & Fuego, both 13 years old) have always been treated with compassion while being seen at Lakeside Animal Hospital. In fact, Misty our Australian Shepherd, would stay there full time if she could, she loves the constant attention and love. more

Rudely Nickeled and Dimed 3/29/2011

New to the area and have been taking my pets there, my neighbor had a bad experience. I was blown away by a recent bill and floored by the charges, when asked the receptionist was a real pill (in a bad way). I was lied to, misled, and never received a call back from the office manager as requested, going on 72 hours now. The doctor maybe talented but the fees here are terrible and the service is lousy, no way I am entrusting my pets to these people if they treat me this way and I can speak up for myself. more

Experience at Lakeside Animal Hospital 12/15/2009

My 13 year old Lab had to have high risk surgery over Thanksgiving 2009. She came through the surgery fine but due to the location of the surgery, she kept pulling her stitches. This resulted in a 30-day stay at Lakeside. I visited her daily in the kennel. Since it was Thanksgiving, boarding was filled to capacity. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the kennels. There was never any odor and I would be there for hours. The washing machine was always going and there was always fresh bedding. Any staff member I asked could bring me up to date on the condition of my Lab's wound without having to defer to anyone else. They all visited with her daily. When I received the bill, Dr. Diasti personally went over it with me and asked me to take it home and review it again and come back within a few days to discuss it. I quickly reviewed it again and mentally compared it to another situation I experienced 20 years ago where I had a Golden Retriever with allergies that had to stay at a vet's for 4 days. Lakeside's bill was so reasonable compared to the situation 20 years ago that I insisted on paying immediately without further review of the bill. I truly feel that Dr. Diasti is in this profession for her love of animals and that makes all the difference in the world. Pros: Clean and reasonably priced Cons: Easy to miss the turn into the clinic more

Great Service Reasonable Prices 4/10/2009

Our GS had an unusual skin condition, we went to several vets over the years and spent a lot of money with no results. We went to Lakeside and we saw tremendous improvement within two weeks at a fraction of the money we spent over the years. I highly recommend Lakeside, Dr. Diasti is very talented and caring. Pros: Most caring Vet office I have been to. Cons: no cons more

Overpriced 4/26/2008

This office is very expensive for the service you receive. They also will not ""work with you"" on a payment plan. You must pay everything up front. You cannot walk in the door without spending $100. I have been a client for a few years and I am now changing vets. The service has gotten worse. They will ""feel"" your pet and charge $100 for an office visit. That is not including the shots...pills....whatever else they can find to tack on your bill. They are in it for one reason MONEY. Cons: Cost, service, small office more
