Lake Wylie Pet Resort

My dog has been going to doggie day care at Lake Wylie Pet Resort for several years, since he was a puppy, and he thinks it is his second home. Every morning he stands at the door waiting to go and cries with anticipation as we get close. Tracie, the manager, and all her staff are animal lovers, and it shows in the way they treat the dogs in their care. I have complete confidence in them and would recommend the Pet Resort to anyone. more

My hyper pit bull is a handful as he is full of energy! Leaving him home while I'm at work is just out of the question so I'm very thankful for Pet Resort. He has been going there for almost 4 years and is the ""social director"" for all the new dogs that come in. My dog I think prefers pet resort to home lol. I say that cause she starts with the whinning and excitement when I get anywhere near the place she knows where we are going every time. She loves it has lots of fun meets and plays with lots of other dogs. I am a happy customer and I know my furry baby is too. Thanks for taking such good care of her and going the extra mile. The Lake Wylie Pet Resort is more than just a place where I drop my two pets off to be boarder. It's basically their second home. Sometimes I swear they would rather be there, playing with the other dogs, running around, swimming, instead of coming home to mommy and daddy. They are always taken such good care of and I have never had any issues with their services. I know that I will always bring my pets there, forever! more

Lake Wylie Pet Resort offers a wonderful service. Tracy and her team treat my dogs as if they were their own. Not only do my dogs go to regular daycare, but they are also boarded regularly as I travel quite a bit. I have never had a situation where I have worried about the treatment that they receive or the care that is delivered. My dogs benefit by being around other dogs regularly, they have plenty of room to run and play, and no matter the length of time that I am out of town, my directions regarding feeding, medicine administration (one of my dogs has seizures and needs regular phenobarbital pills administered to her twice a day), or anything else are always followed. I appreciate the service that Lake Wylie Pet Resort delivers to me and I certainly am happy that my dogs have such a loving environment to have fun in. Moreover, Tracy goes above and beyond to make sure that anything I take, such as blanets, toys, food dishes, etc. when I board my dogs is returned to me in tip-top shape. This place is absolutely fantastic!!! The staff, facility, and convenient location keep us coming back. These people truly love and care for our dogs, like they were their own. Our two dogs go to daycare daily and get the ability to get out of the house and interact with other dogs. It’s nice picking them up and seeing the smiles on their face. We have also boarded them for as long as 10 and have come back to two exhausted dogs from all the playing they have done. If you are looking for a daycare, grooming, or a place to board your dogs, I highly recommend this place. more

We will NEVER use this place again. We took our 2 healthy puppies there for Thanksgiving vacation. They had a clean bill of health from our Vet on Monday. We dropped them off at this Pet Resort on Tuesday. When we picked them up on Sunday, the girl told us that 1 of the puppies had been sick in the kennel, but wasn't sure which. Well.. It was BOTH dogs that were sick. It took 3 weeks and a 4 day hospital stay to get them back to health. 1 almost DIED! When we called the resort, they COULD HAVE CARED LESS! ""It was our problem not theirs."" So much for ""how much they love dogs"". They didn't even ask what was wrong with our dogs! What if it had been Parvo?! Every dog in the resort could have been contaminated!\r When we tried to make contact with the owner, they refused to talk with us directly and refused to help with any part of the $1100+ vet bill. That is just bad business! I would caution anyone thinking of using this Pet Resort as they truly do not care for your animal. If you do go out for a visit, take a close look at the outside dog area.. It is NEVER scooped for poop. more

This place is wonderful :) I highly encourage anyone to board and groom at Lake Wylie Pet Resort. They took extra special care of my dogs. My oldest dog takes a series of medicines and I was worried that something would go wrong but they took great care of him. I was told upfront about about all the fees including early drop off and late pick up and medicine fees. I feel this is very appropriate since they are taking care of my dogs, I dont mind paying a little extra because of special circumstances or medicines. I understand that they are busy and have a lot of dogs to care for so no amount of money is too much to ensure that my dogs are well taken care of. Im not saying that were expensive by no means because I called several different places and their prices are no different than anywhere else. \r \r The facility was nice as well and clean. I have no complaints about this place at all. I know I will be returning and encourage anyone who needs somewhere for their dogs to stay overnight please contact them because I know without a doubt that they take their job very seriously and enjoy it as well. more

We also had problems with never being told about the early drop off fee. They just said to bring them on in and seeing that we were new customers, probably figured they could get away with the add ons. Also, we received incorrect information from the person on the phone (who was also the person who checked our dogs in). My husband made the arrangements and the employee told him our dogs would be in the larger kennel and gave him a price which sounded reasonable to us. I came by to bring their vet records and they were in a ridicuously small kennel and when I objected, she now gave an outrageously high $amount for switching to the bigger one. We had other problems and were promised some coupons to try to get us to come back again...guess what...never received them...and never going back. more

I took my dog to the new pet spa for ONE night and it cost me $48!! I was charged an extra $10 because I brought her in at 8:30 in the morning and another $10 because I picked her up at 4:30. I was told this was considered early drop off and late pick-up. I have never heard of such a thing. They said this was posted on the wall, but they conveniently never TELL you about this. They just lost a customer. I have taken my dog there several times before with the same drop-off and pick-up times and have never been charged those fees. I guess they have to pay for the new building somehow! I am very disappointed, but you can be assured I will not be back. I had a reservation for July 4th week, but I already cancelled that! I have been using LKW Pet resort for years, since they first opened and have always been satisfied with the services they provide. I travel for work a bit but do travel quite often out of town and they are a life saver. They are very accomodating to my needs (Schedule and preferences) but more importantly take excellent care of my dobie. All of the staff clearly love animals and my baby gets so much attention that I think he is so sad leaving that he usually mopes around for a couple days! The facility is clean and the suites are quite large which is nice as my dog is a pacer... All in all I couldnt live without them, Knowing your pet is well taken care of while you are travelling is a must and here at Lake Wylie Pet resort that is always the case. I called a month in advance to schedule a sleepover while my husband was in the hospital. I called that day to get a drop off time. Both the phone number online and the phone number in the phonebook were disconnected. I had to go somewhere else at the last minute. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this business, because they are not considerate. If they were going out of business, they could have called ahead so I could make other arrangements. Some just don't care. more
