Absolutely fabulous, period!! I have been a client of this beauty college for about 10 years now. Prior to the new management, the school was okay, now it's phenomenal!! The sc...

Worst

Avoid this school at all costs. I've become such and angry and upset person since attending this school. The staff is absolutely horrible. Please look elsewhere.

Night Class 1/21/2010

I have been attending LFBC since Nov 2009, Cosmetology course, and it has been great. They also have an Estitician Course with the highest spa standards. The quality, talent , creativity and commitment of my peers are outstanding. It's a beauty school of course there will be drama now and then, it's also an excellent profession and an educational experience. If you are there to learn and succeed, you will. If you are there to complain, gossip or stir strife...then you may be using your brain for the wrong thing. Again, it's a beauty school, full of students from all walks of life, a plethera of personalities, creativity and passion. Even your first year of college, is much like ""high school"" still. Its not because the first year of college is like high school, but the 1st year students may still have a ""high school-like"" mentality. We learn, we grow. This program is an awesome opportunity for anyone interested for the right reasons. Check it out yourself. And Good Luck! Pros: Everything more

THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! 1/6/2010

The negative reviews below are outdated and are no longer accurate. I just went to Lake Forest Beauty College's Orientation last Monday and had THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! LFBC has a new owner who is totally in touch with what The Students want and need. I also observed 2 different classes that were held by 2 new Instructors. The hair models in the class where dancers and I have seen one of those dancers on that movie ""Step It Up!"" The classes were set up with umbrella lighting and cool music as if it were a photo shoot. and the Students looked like they LOVED being at school. Also, the school is in the process of expanding its Hair and Skin Departments as well as remodeling. I encourage anyone who is interested in an amazing Education to not pay attention to the past reviews, but to actually go and visit the New School and talk to Lake Forest Beauty College Students about their experience. Pros: NEW OWNER. COOL TEACHERS. SCHOOL REMODEL more

Changing for the better! 12/11/2009

I started the school about three months ago. I cried the first week because it was so terrible. Since then new owners have bought the school, and now, things are looking up! The school has just recently become a Redken premier school, which means we are using quality products, the instructors know what they are doing, and there are many very motivated students who are already very good at what we've been learning. If you are looking to get your cosmetology license this school is a sensible choice. Within about the next six months a lot of things will be updated and running more smoothly. LFBC is looking to make a new positive image, and they are defiantly on their way! Before you make a decision whether LFBC is for you or not, I recommend making an appointment for a service; that way you will really get a feel for what the school and the students are like. Pros: New ownership, high state board pass rate Cons: Not visually pleasing (yet!), crowded more

Prospective Client 10/20/2009

Thanks guys for all the reviews! I am new to the area and was looking for a cheap place to get my hair done! Thanks to all the negative reviews, I will NOT be going there! Hopefully, more and more people will see this site and shut the place down. Good luck on finishing your schooling girls! Just wanted to let you know your reviews got somewhere! more

I Love It 9/16/2009

Maybe there were some issues last semester but I just started as a freshman and everyone is so nice. Miss Mia has a ton .of patience and is straight to the point. For those of you who have thought negative about this school should take another look . You will be plesently suprised. more

What a Joke 4/3/2009

This school seriously doesn't even deserve one star. I consider myself a responsible adult, I started going to this school in September for the night class, the entire time I was going here I felt like I was in Juvenille Hall, you never knew what you were going to do wrong and they staff was constantly coming up with new rules. The teachers are on some kind of weird power trip, if they don't like you for whatever reason they will find a way to get you sent home or kicked out. I ended up transferring to a new school (which is amazing) and am trying to get my hours transferred. I can't get anyone from LFBC to call me back, I've called like 6 times over a 2 week period, I talked to Ms. Rachelle (the only person that works in the office) once and she claimed she would call me back and then I get nothing. Yes it is cheap but not worth the stress and drama your going to face. Plus you won't learn anything, they don't even teach highlights. My new school was just a little more expensive (grants covered more than everything) and they teach everything including eyelash and hair extension. Please don't waste your time on this school! Don't get me wrong I'm not bitter I am just trying to help others avoid my mistakes. Cons: students and patrons beware more

STAYYY AWAYY!!!!! EVEN IF ITS YOUR LAST OPTION - YOUR BETTER OFF WORKING AT A GAS STATION!!!!!!!! 3/3/2009

Attending this school was probably the worst decision i have EVER made. It is a complete waste of time. I started attending classes in September 2008 as they were just recently moving into their new location after getting evicted of their old location, their promise was to have a clinic floor ready in 2 months for senior students to work on clients, and it is now March 2009 and there still no floor for senior students to go to work on clients, the clinic floor literally doesn't even have a floor and is filled with a bunch of broken things that hasn't been touched since September. So we have been taking clients into our class rooms so they can receive services, where there aren't even enough electrical plugs to plug in hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners, etc. , and NO HOT WATER to wash hair. So if you don't mind washing hair in cold water all day then this jst might b the school for you. Also there are 5 dryers for clients to sit under, but if more than one client sits under the dryer at the same time the breaker will go n power will go out. Students are not allowed to perform any services with chemicals because we are not supplied with the materials to do such. There are days where we don't have any toilet paper or paper towels to wash our hands. How this school got accredited is beyond my belief. When the accreditors came in to check on the school and interview students about the school, students lied because they were fearful that they would get dropped from the program for saying how they really felt. The head teacher who works mostly in administration ends up kicking just about all of the students out, out of a class of 30 students only about 3 end up graduating. The only reason they have such a high passing rate for state board is because they have so few people going to take it. The main teacher in charge of the school will pin point a student and give them hell until they either drop themselves because the school is so pathetic!! Pros: noneee Cons: too many to list more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME 5/7/2008

I signed up with this school in March 2008, only to go for a few weeks and then get evicted from our building and lose 2 weeks of hours. We then moved to Saddleback College where we had no equipment but a massage table, had to bring all of our own supplies, some nights we wouldn't even have any papertowels to dry our hands with. \r We were told we would be out of this location and into a new, fully functional location no later then the end of May. Then May 7th comes around, and we are told the school's license has been suspended because they were not authorized by state board to operate out of the Saddleback College facility. So, now who knows if our hours that we have accrued at the college since we moved here in April will even count.\r I looked up the business license for the school and it shows it is dissolved, which means its not even valid.\r The point I want to make is that this school may sound too good to be true because of the ROP and Saddleback programs that are available, which are much cheaper then paying the full tuition at another beauty college. But, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I wish I would have had reviews to look into before I signed up for this school because I know several students have gone to hell and back trying to complete their hours at this school.\r Please beware before you consider signing up with this school, whether it be for the cosmetology or the esthetician course, this school is SHADY. Cons: DON'T GO more
