To the poor sweet lady with the dead 17 yr old cat.My opinion is that your car was already dying and this was dr dees attempt to try to give you a little more time.Sometimes the medical profession does extra knowing that it could be a risk. This is not for their benefit but for the benefit of the family. If it had worked and given you a few more months or weeks you would be thanking him.I hope vets don't stop going the extra mile of hope because of blame from owners of terminal pets who cant see the forest for the trees.im sorry that you couldn't be there to touch and hold your baby but dr dees is not to blame.Look at it as if your loved one was in an emergency code room in a code blue respiratory distress and dr dees choose to continue chest compressions with a flat line and heart shocks knowing there was little chance.I know you are angry and hurt but dr dees should not be blamed for doing everything he knew to do because he cared. Why didn't you just get an autopsy from a different clinic to easy your mind? more

Dr John Dee - best of the best 6/24/2011

have been a professional dog trainer, handler and Police K9 supervisor for over 25 years, I have come into contact with a great many Veterinarians in my time and can honestly say Dr John Dee is one of the very best in the business. Absolutely trustworthy, honest and dedicated I have always and will always recommend him to my clients. Since joining this community I have heard nothing but good reports from a huge number of his long standing and new clients who cannot speak highly enough of him. I have absolutely no reservation in recommending him to folks who need a Veterinarian, have perhaps had bad experiences with other veterinarians or who need an experienced second opinion. If all vets were as diligent, experienced and trustworthy as Dr Dee our pets would be very lucky indeed. I trust my daughter's hearing dog with John Dee and know that she is in two of the safest hands in the country; Caring Professional and experienced - veterinary care doesn't get any better than this. more

Dr. John Dee Investigation 6/12/2011

Dr. John Dee, Lake Emma Animal Hospital is currently under investigation as a result of a complaint I filed with the Board of Veterinary Medicine in Tallahassee regarding the death of my cat Bandit. The Case Number is 2011027249. Bandit hadn?t been eating well the last few days. Dr. Dee did sometests on her and called me the next day and told me she had kidney disease. He told me that I needed to bring her in for IV fluid treatment that would last for 3 days to get her stabilized. more

BEST VET IN ORLANDO!!!! 6/10/2010

My experience with Dr. Blake and the staff from Lake Emma has been absolutley amazing. I have never found a more compassionate vet in the Orlando area. Our late dog "Buster" was very sick at the end and Dr. Blake was always willing and able to speak with us. My husband and I could call him at any time and he would take our call. He found his lympoma and sent us immediately to the University of Florida vet school. He continually called us and checked on Buster during his chemo therapy treatments. I actually feLT we received better medical care from him than we do from our own physician. more

Worst Boarding Experience 2/16/2010

I recently picked my dog up from boarding with LEAH. While waiting for her to be brought up to the front, I notice her weight on check out. She had lost 10 lbs while being boarded for 5 days. I asked the vet tech how could this be and she read off a kennel card that said "did not eat", "did not eat", 10 times. When they finally brought her up she was noticably thinner and we reconfirmed her weight while I was there. Just over 10lbs she lost while there. What is even more insulting then the complete lack of care, was while we were away we called to check in on her. EVERY time we got " She's doing great, eating, walking on a leash well with the techs ". I called to speak to one of the actual vets, and he blamed the weight loss on a misread scale. So the techs are not competent enough to weigh a dog? How about each of the times she was weighed, while she was there, there was a 2 lb loss at each weigh-in? They actually recorded the weight loss in the computer and it printed with my receipt more
