what can i say? - outstanding food, impeccable service, and some nice prix fixe specials on mon/wed/fri. great selection of choices for chinese and japanese cuisine. acts like a 4-star restaurant. ideal for suburbanites, but even worth a drive from the city the food's so good. Never Again 7/19/2004

The food is OK, but the Manager/Owner needs a lesson in knowing his wines. I took a few Japanese customers to this place because I knew the food was above par with decent sashime. I ordered a bottle of red wine (I have had a few times before), tasted it and commented that it was ""corked."" The wine was oxidized. The waiter brought the Manager/Owner over to our table; he tasted the wine and said it was fine, but he would take $10 off...mmmmm, the bottle sat untouched as we ate quickly and left briskly never to EVER return. Bye-bye Lai-Lai!!! Pros: Good Food more

Disappointed 12/29/2003

I read the review here so decided to give it a try. What I experienced was totally different from what I expected. The food was just regular China Town food. No surprise at all. Give the price they are charging, it's far too expensive. Service was great though. The decoration was old style but high class. But these are not enough for me to go back or recommend to others. Pros: over priced, just China Town food Cons: great dining room more

The food is delicious. The ambiance is elegant. The service is top notch. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back right now!!! Pros: Great Parking, Quaint Atmosphere more
