Everytime I saw Dr. Lagalbo she was very short with me. I always felt ignorant in her presence & did not feel that she was trying to make this pregnancy a very good experience for...

Great Group! 7/20/2010

quick tip - If you are searching for a doc, best way to find out who to see is by going into a birth center and asking the nurses. Make sure you let them know you will keep their opinion private but you'll get the best answers every time! **I am a labor and delivery nurse who recently moved to Seattle from San Francisco. I am passionate about patient advocacy/choice, especially during birth (as long as the baby is safe). The saying goes, "if you don't know your rights, you don't have any." In most of Washington, you will need to bring a support teat that is vocal about your wishes and not afraid to advocate for you. WA state has one of the highest cesarean section rates in the country (long story as to why). Truth be told, Salish Women's Health take care of their patients like their own. I love love love Dr. Kurachi and all of the OB's she works with. I am 4.5 months pregnant with my first and I wanted to choose someone who had my best interested in mind and who also was patient with birth - it takes time to be born and there's no rushing it unless needed. I've always imagined myself delivering in the hospital with a midwife but I've found these doctors to function in similar spirit. This group listens to your requests, there's no mocking involved, and they are really great people "behind the scenes," too. For example - I've never seen Dr. Kurachi in a bad mood and I've spent a lot of time working with her! Besides that, she is incredibly competent. May I also make a side note: The nurses you work with during birth are super important. Sometimes more important than the docs/midwives. Northwest Hospital has a wonderful group of nurses - I want them to deliver my baby! more

LOVE IT!!! BEST SERVICE, BEST STAFF! 1/4/2010

I was referred to Salish Women's Health by the staff across the hall. I was 7 months pregnant and I'm so happy that I switched to them. The whole staff is friendly! They knew my name by my second visit! Dr Kurachi is the best! She actually takes the time to get to know you and answer any questions you have. We're going to be moving up to Bellingham, but I am still planning to stay with Salish. It's worth the drive :) more

comfort and care 7/2/2007

I was refered to Salish Women's Clinic for follow up and more specialized care. I found the staff to be very comforting and supportive. Dr. Legalbo was fantastic and their follow up superb. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone seeking professional and warm care. more

My experiences!! Very good!! 1/26/2007

OK, I just came across site accidentally but I have to say I love the people there and love the care they give! I have been going there for approx. 10 years and my last child was delivered by Dr. Andrews 9 years ago. Dr. Andrews is an absolute jewel! She makes you feel so comfortable, has a very calming persona and answers any questions you have in detail. I also liked the other docs and nurses I had interactions with. I have two friends that have also had babies delivered by Dr. Andrews and love her as well! Great place, great care!! more

This place is fine. 10/1/2005

I have mixed feelings about this practice. The OBs all seem very competent, and I felt I was always in good hands. I really didn't like their nurse practitioner very much. As a patient at this clinic, you need to see this nurse practitioner a couple of times. I asked the nurse practitioner how often episiotomies were performed (as you get whatever doc is on call when you give birth after regular office hours), and it seemed she didn't like that question. Her response was that she didn't know and that it really wasn't that important, because episiotomies aren't routine. She didn't seem to want to reassure me or find out the answer. I just didn't feel comfortable with her. Go ahead and check it out and make your own decision. more
