We purchased a travel trailer in June at Labadie RV. The facility manager that sold it to us was great and the trailer purchased has thus far proved to be a good buy at a decent price, but the one employee handling the title work was awful. We paid for our trailer with a cashier’s check drawn from our savings. When we picked up the trailer a week later, we were told that the title would be sent to us in two week. The day after we picked it up, we received a called from one of their salesman telling us that since we paid with a cashier’s check, he assumed that we had purchased the trailer with a loan and that he would be filing a lien on the trailer. I immediately called back and left a message that in no uncertain terms informed the salesman that the funds were not from a loan but from my savings and that he should not, under any circumstances, file a lien. I then called the manager who assured me he would talk to his employee to head off the filing of the lien. Nearly four weeks later, we still didn’t have a title. I again talked to the manager of Labadie RV who assured me he would follow up and find out what happened to our title. Hearing nothing after a few days, I visited the business in person and was told that a lien was filed in spite of my phone call and information to the contrary and was told by the salesman who filed it that he just “has to go over and take the lien off.” I let it be known in no uncertain terms that I expected that to be done by the end of the week. Dealing with such an incompetent employee has left a very sour taste for doing business with Labadie RV ever again and I would not recommend the experience for anyone else.
