La Petite Academy

I can not stand the director yall have now at the center. She is very loud and very disrespectful. I think u guys need another director before u be in a world of troble with her. U have awesome teachers except in the baby room. They try 2 tell the parents what 2 do with thier babies. GET RID OF THE DIRECTOR KRISTEN SURFACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I had my daughter at the Lake Powell La Petite and it was a terrible experience. The teachers were great. However the management was ridiculous. The director, Peggy Hammons, has no clue as to what is going on. She sits at the computer in the front all day and it is hard to tell what else she does. She doesn't know when the classes are out of ratio nor does she seem to care when they are over, She came in and told one of my daughter's teachers to go home right in front of me. Her reason--there were not as many kids at the school that day and so someone had to leave. Meanwhile, my daughter was transitioning and needed to have that teacher (who was being sent home) to care for her. The teacher was unpaid and visibly upset to leave while my daughter was screaming for her (although she was professional and never said anything to me about it). The assistant director, is a hyper active loud woman who busts into the rooms, barks orders at the teachers, and doesn't care who is in the room or wh more

I had my son @ this center for about 5 months. When he was in the "infant room" our level of satisfaction was not great but we felt he was in a safe area and although we were hoping for more stimilation and activities it was the only option at the time. The teachers were loving but outnumbered and over-worked. \r \r The center decided to move my son up to the toddler room when he was only 12 months. It was here that we ran into the most difficulties. Our son was bitten on 5 different occasions in the toddler room. The staff was clearly under-staffed and not giving the attention or supervision that the toddlers so obviously needed. We had no choice but to pull our son from the center...especially when the center was not willing to remove the "biter" from the school and were also unwilling to remedy the situation in other fashions. We were disappointed in the lack of leadership from the management and lack of supervision from the teachers. more

I had my infant daughter at this day care and I was not comfortable with the center. They where constantly out of ratio. Their toys where outdated. Not only that but when we enrolled her they promoted a schedule of activities for the infants. In which they would read to the babies, play music, sing to them and play games with them. I went often to the center during my lunch brake.They where two busy to do any activities with the babies. The teachers where just trying to survive the day. They are under staffed. The teachers are very friendly and loving. I just didn't feel my daughter was getting the attention she needed. more
