Great Local Italian Food 12/17/2010

Wonderful food and great service. Clean, nice atmosphere. It's BYOB (located across from a school), so don't forget. The calzones are great and cooked in a wood-fired oven. Perfect for large groups or small family gatherings. Kids even loved it! more

Good Ambiance 4/17/2010

This is my favorite Italian place in the area. The Vittelo Parmigiana (Veal Parmesan) is excellent everytime! Great Ambiance for a romantic dinner out. Remember your own wine! \r The service has never been the best but for a romantic night out, you don't want the waiter bothering you every five seconds.\r They have a side room that is good for things like rehearsal dinners or other big groups. Pros: Ambiance Cons: Service more

Good deal 4/2/2010

We had our rehearsal dinner here a few months back. They made cute menus for our guest. The food was very good especially for the price. Not a single person had anything negative to say about the food. I'm a pretty good cook and a pick eater- I thought the appetizers were okay, the main dishes: salmon, eggplant, and chicken piccata, we all good, and their desserts: homemade cheesecake or chocolate mouse cake were amazing! They just need to improve their service a little. The appetizers were supposed to be served at a set time. We arrived after that time due to a slight delay at the church to find our guest standing around without any food. We brought our own wine and paid for a corking fee but our guest were left to serve themselves. Is the corking fee for just opening the bottle? However, they were polite at the end of the night: boxed up leftovers, didn't charge us for the plates of people who didn't show up, and helped us collect the unopened bottles of wine and recork those still not empty. Pros: dessert perfected Cons: service could be improved more

Delightful restaurant. We'll be back. 10/25/2009

My wife and I dined at La Parmigiana for the first time last night. All of our dishes were superb (Tomato Fritti, Envoltini del la Nona, and Fettuccine la Parmigiana). We loved the attentiveness of the owner Sylvia and the waitstaff. My wife is diabetic and was delighted to find many low carb options on the menu. We've traveled in Europe and Asia and have lived in Australia and Canada. La Parmigiana could compete in any of those markets. We feel fortunate to have a restaurant of this style and calibre in Cypress. The BYO policy is great. We were surprised that more diners weren't taking advantage of it. Pros: Inventive cuisine at reasonable prices. more

Great place for a best food 7/15/2009

Was the first visit for us and we""ll be back to enjoy this unique restaurant. The first time that the owner came to our table and talk to us, she is gorgeous and a nice lady, thank you Sylvia for taking care of us. This food is the best italian food, tastes real italian. From now on we'll be regulars at your place. Please dont change anything. We loved you potroast and the pollo carbonara, the bread? the best! Pros: Best italian cuisine Cons: Good prices from 10 - 19.99$ more

Felt just like my home sweet home Piacenza! 7/10/2009

After visiting different places such as Olive Garden,Macarroni Grill and Carrabbas, I finally came to this romantic yet very social restaurant thanks to my good friends who recommended it. I am from Piacenza and i recently moved to Houston. I have to honestly say that this is what our Italian food really taste like. Its very rich in flavors and it feels like its home made. The service is Great! The restaurant has very friendly and smiley staff. Great relaxing music and the owners are to love, they make sure everything is going well. Highly recommend it! P.S : If youre not Italian, you have no right to critize the food, but this is the only place i can honestly say IT IS italian food. Alessandra. Pros: Real Italian food. Cons: A little far from my house. more

The best italilian food 7/9/2009

This is one of the best restaurants that we remeber visited in the last months and is near our house!!!!! I am italian and my husband is portuguese. We use to travel a lot and since we found this fabulous italian rest. we are very happy. There is one person talking bad about this restaurant and about the owner, must be an enemy that they have!! jjajaj because they recomend a chain restaurant!!!! what a big diference between this one and the others near them!! LA PARMIGIANA is the best! Congratulations to the excelent owners! and Silvia you are the best!!!!!!! thank you for coming to our table and take care of us.\r Eliona and Joao Pros: What a good food! Cons: The best restaurant near us. more

Horrible 6/30/2009

Basically, La Parmigiana was horrible. Not only was the chicken marsala the worst ever, but my husband had the absolute worst dish in the world, arosto nero. It's italian potroast which apparently the most recent owner, sylvia ( who is very obnoxious and interrupts everyones dinner ), came up with. Trust me on this one, go to Locatellis about 2 minutes away, or better yet, olive garden. Pros: waitress Cons: owners and food more

NOT Italian 4/17/2009

I ordered the Festiviti Italiana. If you have eaten here and you liked then you have never had Italian food. IF you've had good Italian food then you will discover this place does not serve Italian food. My chicken parmesana was a breaded chicken breast with tomato paste over it. The lasagna had hamburger meat and onions in it. The sauce on the feticina alfredo was tasteless complimented the very tasteless tomato sauce on the other two entrees. The food was lukewarm at best. Olive Garden is a lesser evil but almost any place serving Italian food in Houston has to be better the La Parmigiana. In short - very dissappointing experience. Pros: You get to bring your own wine & decent atmosphere Cons: Food more

We bring our own bottle of wine!!! this is an incredible place to go!!! will be high recomended by us!!!!!!!! Congratulations for that good food!!!!!\r Pros: Good parking, best food and lovely place Cons: nothing more

Best food, best service 7/16/2008

We use to come here years ago and now this is better than ever, the service, and the pizzas are the best! The last time, one week ago we ask for an opinion and they recommended pasta Fettuccine La Parmigiana and this is the best pasta I ever had!!! I was there for my anniversary and I for sure will back....\r A happy customer?\r Pros: service, food, parking, Atmosphere Cons: wine more

Not so much....... 6/3/2008

Once a month I meet with a group of girlfriends to enjoy a ""kid-free"" night out. We had all sat down to eat and everyone agreed they were glad we had chosen this restuarant because we can bring in our own wine. About 10 minutes after that someone noticed some small creatures crawling on the wall behind us. One, then another and then another. We were low key, told the waitress, she explained they had just sprayed. We moved to another table and from there we had terrible service. No one came back to refill our waters. Our appetizer arrived much later after we had told her we wanted to move, she had it in her hand when we first asked. And I specifically remember seeing some people come in the door after we moved tables. They had the same amount of people at the table and they were served and had ""to-go"" boxes before we even had food. The sad thing is the food is really good, I would not recomend this to anyone because of the service. I live right in the area so I was really hoping it would turn into a neighborhood place to go once a week but I dont think so anymore. more

Great Place for a large group 5/5/2008

I have been here several times, have enjoyed every time, and found it very hospitable and personable. So I suggested this restaurant for a party of 12 women in the neighborhood. The food was great, the service was even greater, and we had a wonderful time. It was a weeknight, so I did not expect it to be very crowded, but indeed, the tables were full. So whoever wrote the past reviews on it being a terrible place, all I can say is they must have been having a bad hair day. Yes, you do have to bring in your own bottle of wine, but actually, that is the fun part. There is a $3.00 charge for wine set-up, but for the money you save on purchasing your own bottle at a local liquor store, it's worth it. They chill it for you and again, the service was terrific. Give it a chance and support your local neighborhood businesses. We need them. more

Terrible 4/22/2008

I have eaten at this restaurant since we moved to Houston almost 4 years ago and will never go back. The restaurant recently changed owners (the new lady is a complete witch), and the food, service, ambiance, and overall presentation has gone downhill. You are better off eating at Olive Garden. Pros: Parking Cons: Location, food, owner, service more

Yummy 7/3/2007

We have been going to La Barmigiana/La Parmigiana for many years. I would have rated it with 5 stars but several dishes are no longer on the menu that I miss alot and there was a time we quit going due to poor service but I think the service has improved and the food is great. AND you can bring your own bottle. Seriously the food is really good. We brought some friends a month ago and they loved it too! The pesto is so good, the calzones, the pizza, yummy! more

Excellent Calimari! 1/4/2007

The service can be a little slow here, but the calimari is TO DIE FOR! My husband & I typically order the fried calimari & the creamy, DELICIOUS Veal Carbonara with bacon with the not-to-be-missed house salad & we go home with PLENTY of food for lunch the next day. The bread is delicious! We have taken our children before & they LOVE it, but I would not recommend it as a restaurant for children. It is more romantic, fairly quiet restaurant. Since it is so close to a school, they are not allowed to have a liquor license; however, you can take in your own bottle of wine (or your own beer) & they can serve it to you for a nominal fee. They are only open for dinner. Pros: Best Calimari Cons: Slow Service more

What a fiasco 10/4/2006

I just moved to this area and got really excited when I saw the outside of this restaurant. I thought this could be a good place where to park my appetite and take friends when they come visit. Well... the food was straight out of cans!! I have eaten better stuff that I buy at Costco and reheat at home (and better by far). I can't believe that this restaurant could have a clientele...but I guess there is a market for anything. The fact that they don't have a liquor license didn't bother me as I thought I could come back with my own bottles of wine... but then I tasted the food!! I will probably never come back to this place unless there is a hurricane, the supermarkets are closed, my car doesn't have any gas and they are open!! I am sorry to be so negative but I think this place needs a major revamp (at least for my taste). Pros: Near my house Cons: Too many to enumarate more
