Not as good as it used to be 6/4/2010

Years ago (6-10 years ago) La Monique was fabulous. Then it started to morph into something other than a nice nail salon. An ATM machine arrived, a fish tank arrived, etc. Did this add to my experience there? NO! These objects took away space and added nothing. Also, the manicurists used to speak some English, understood what a client wanted, and seemed to want to learn how to speak more proficiently. No more. They laugh at their jokes (I presume-although a friend of mine decided not to go back because she thought they were laughing at her feet) and speak Vietnamese unceasingly and loudly so that it is hard to relax. more

Once was good, but definetly not now 4/9/2009

I used to frequent this nail salon about 8 yrs ago.used to love it! Decided to go back again, thinking it would be the same..when i walked in the salon smelled so bad of mildew, but my nails needed a fill badly, so had the owner? do them, she did a terrible job, and while i was there another customer who came in 1 day prior, was very upset as her french manicure was peeling off after one day! I can't believe that this salon is still in business, as a matter of fact, I WILL be reporting them to the health dept! more

Ready for the best pedicure in Mountain View 8/16/2005

La Monique's is so good, my Mother-in-law times her visits up from Irvine to coincide with her need for a pedicure. For $25, you'll get a wonderful hour of soaking, scrubbing, nail-trimming, massaging (including a hot-rock calf rub!) and paraffin wax dip. Oh, and the polish, of course! The girls are friendly, the atmosphere is jovial, and the instruments and tub are sparkling clean. I count few things a bargain, but a La Monique pedicure is among them! more
