Perfect place to relax and enjoy your dinner. Cozy candlelight spot with convenient parking right outside the door. Menu changes periodically. Enjoyed the calamari, scallops, and a white wine flight. Very friendly service. Left very satisfied and had an enjoyable evening there. more

The Crab-Artichoke Dip is phenomal! 8/24/2006

I have only been here once, but the Crab-Artichoke Dip was amazing and I'll definately be back. When I do though I will be sure to get a different server (whose I cannot remember sadly or I would save you the pain). I know that she smokes and that you can smell it on her even before she rudely stamps to the table. She is shorter with medium length hair and attitude up to here. Despite how awful she was, our meal was GREAT. The wine was pretty good, the bread before the meal was excellent and the ambiance was very nice. That Dip though...wow. Pros: Close parking, nice patio and great Crab-Artichoke Dip. Cons: HORRIBLE SERVER. more

Out on the Town 10/13/2005

I have dined at Thistles several times since it opened last January with my husband as well as with larger groups of family and friends. The food is always great! I am always surprised at the new additions to the menu and wine list and since I am a pretty adventurous diner it is fun for me to see what is new each time we return. The wine flights were added on my last visit and everyone at the table tried a different one. It was great to be able to sample several different wines all at once! The staff is very friendly whenever we are there and they always remember us! Gusteating, this is the only thing resembling a ""Cheers"" environment that I have ever encountered at Thistles in all of my visits and frankly I like frequenting a place where ""everyone knows your name""... Pros: Great Cuisine, Good Variety, Friendly Staff Cons: Need More Appetizers more

    Born in raised in the restaurant business of the Twin Cities, co founder Caterina Suglia is no stranger to hard work! Her Italian heritage always brought her great pride and she was always thankful for the morals taught to her by the hard work of her Italian grandparents and parents. But most of all, she was inspired by the great romance of her Grandmother and Grandfather, so she set out to meet and marry a man just like him! After years of helping to matchmake others, her match was finally revealed to her! Born in a small village in South East Italy, co-founder Francesco Suglia was a charming young man with a passion for food. He was inspired by the many hours he'd spend with his Nonna and Mama learning how to cook with the ingredients of their region. Fresh seafood's were plentiful, garden herbs abundant, and natural meats and cheeses raised and crafted by village friends. Dinner at Nona's was a true delight, one that makes you feel loved, appreciated and adored!

    After years of training, in various other restaurants, Caterina, known to her friends and family as Tina, and Francesco, would meet in the Twin Cities, and despite the differences their upbringings would present, they both share a passion for family, friends, and exceptional food to share with them. It is their hope that all of their guests feel the love, appreciation and adoration that they shared with their Nona's at their houses!     Fresh seafood, pastas, homemade Gnocchi and Risotto Specialties Lunch Served Daily Featuring fresh salads, sandwiches and pasta! Full Wine Bar with Spirits Half Price Wine Nights Sundays and Mondays at 4PM and Happy Hour Daily Sunday through Thursdays from 3-6PM and Friday and Saturday nights from 10PM-Close! Reservations are encouraged, especially for groups of 6 or more, but they are not required. We also have a private dining space called Venezia that can accommodate special events for up to 50 guests. Our spacious European style patio is open daily as weather permits.
