La Creperie in Long Beach is this crepe lover's second home. 11/12/2009

My friends and I met the very nice owners and purchased really cute black long sleeve shirts with ""La Creperie"" written in gold across the chest. Too bad my shirt ripped not long afterward....I better go get a new one, anyways, I digress! We got both sweet and savory crepes for our table and we enjoyed them all. I try to come to La Creperie every time I drive down to Long Beach. Pros: The owners are eager to welcome you. more

yum! 3/27/2009

I frequently go to La Creperie. Every time I go there I recieve delicious, fast, and fancy food. The service is fantastic! I also love the decor, it really makes me feel like I am at a 5 star restaraunt in Paris! Pros: excellent food! Cons: NO CONS, EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! more

Good food but small portions 3/5/2009

I have been to the Creperie like 4 or 5 times. i like the food, but it is pricey and the portions are small. i wish they would make ""regular american"" food size, not ""french people"" size. the regular large size is just too small. Last time I was there i ordered two of the large dinner size crepes. so i got plenty, but i paid plenty too.\r the building decor is a little weird, but overall a good place. i will go back. Pros: Good Food. Nice Service. Cons: Weird restaurant decor. slow service. pricey. small portions. more

Great Crepes 7/16/2008

The food and the crepes are wonderful, service is ok, what you would expect for a busy place. I am surprised that people do not walk out without paying as it takes so long to get your check and then even long to pay. I wish they would make the patio non-smoking, so many times have I just wanted to sit outside and enjoy the ambience of the patio to be put off by people smoking. Even if you sit inside you can still smell the smoke because they door is open, do people think that smoke does not travel, it is very off putting hence the rating of only average. Pros: Friendly atmosphere Cons: Smoking area more

Great Food, Friendly Service 3/13/2008

Le Creperie is a favorite of mine out of all the restaurants on 2nd Street. The wait can be up to 30 minutes at the busiest time, but there is a comfy lounge seating area so you can relax and browse the menu. The decor is slightly over-the-top with wall sized mirrors, leopard print chairs, and giant chandeliers; but it makes for a very bohemian atmosphere. There's a window to the kitchen on the back wall where patrons seated in that area can watch the crepes made fresh by hand. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. I prefer going on Mondays when bottles of wine are 1/2 off. It's slightly less crowded, but still lively especially for being early in the week. The place smells lightly of garlic fries, which I absolutely recommend trying (you won't be disappointed!). The food is great, but again, the wait can be kind of long. Definitely save room for a desert crepe. My favorite is the classic crepe suzette. Overall, Le Creperie has a very pleasant atmosphere, enjoyable food, and no rush service so you can sit back and socialize over a bottle of wine or two! Pros: Ambience, Friendly Service, Good food Cons: Long wait, Crowded, Can be loud more

Humilation and discrimination, worst customer service 10/23/2007

This is one of the worst and most humiliating experience I've ever had in my whole entire life. I was out celebrating with my friends for my 21st bday and was hoping to have a good time, but what I walked out with was having my pride and dignity destroyed. When we finished paying the bill, the waiter basically harrassed me and told me in her sarcastic way how grateful she was with our tip, at which i truthfully thought she meant. Then she said ""thank you so much for your 8 cent tip. Next time you should reconsider how you tip your server."" I still didnt get what she meant because my friend did leave like a 7 dollar tip. As we walked out, we were still trying to figure out what happened. Then we were confronted by a person who told us in her exact words, "" if you guys don't know how to tip, then don't come back again."" At first i felt bad that such a thing happened of the misunderstanding and so we came back to give her a 20 dollar tip. But the more we thought about it the more restless we became. They didn't even deserve a penny of it. I regret ever giving it. I spent my entire 21st bday thinking about the humuliation inflicted upon us. What made us even more furioius was that she was the MANAGER and she went around spreading the words with other employees and to other the customers. For a manager to act in such an uncivilized and unprofessional way defeats the whole purpose of even having one. For them to preach us about etiquette first of all, they themselves need to learn the proper etiquette. I honestly think that this problem goes beyond the whole tipping issue, it's a problem of discrimination that needs to be discussed and dealt with. Never again will I ever return to this place... I Hope nobody will have to face the pain and humiliation that I had to face there\r \r By the way.. giving it one star is really overrated. What good is the food if you can't enjoy what you're eating? For that I give it 0 star Pros: pretty nice atmospher Cons: worst customer service. long wait, food overpriced more

DISHONEST works that STEAL 9/23/2007

The people that work at this restaurant are DISHONEST!!! I had breakfast there and afterwards walked out to my car and then realized I left my designer sunglasses (cost $400) on the table so I walked right back. ALL the waiters and waitresses didn't hesitate to chime in that they NEVER SAW IT. The amount of time that lapse was like ....5 min! I NEVER plan on going back. more

Great food, spotty service. 9/19/2007

Le Creperie has great atmosphere and tasty food. Not only are their crepes are great, but their sandwiches, salads and pasta are good as well (although the pasta dishes are essentially the same as their crepe counterpart). The Rive Gauche sandwich and Au Bon Curry crepe are personal favorites, although the Al Mare crepe is great and the Riviera crepe is popular as well. They have some nice brunch and holiday specials as well. The wait is tolerable considering it is located on 2nd St (every joint down there has a crowd on the sidewalk). With all the great food, it is unfortunate that the service is so shabby. Having dined here for several years off and on, I always hope that the service would improve over time. While some of the service staff is friendly, the majority is not attentive and sometimes downright discourteous. I don't know if they are trying to cultivate a stereotypical rude French atmosphere, but there are days when this seems to be the case. This attitude results in a long wait for drink service, and food arrival. On the days when the staff is friendly though, Le Creperie is a wonderful experience. Pros: Great food, atmosphere Cons: Unreliable service more
