When my fiance and I pulled into the parking lot of a very unattractive stripmall where La Carreta resides, we hesitated to go in. This place had come highly recommended by friend, so we decided to give it a shot. The atmosphere was quaint and humble, warm and inviting. The pico de gallo tasted like it had been made a minute prior to serving with a heaping endless basket of what appeared to be homemade tortilla chips. I ordered chicken enchiladas verdes which couldn't have been simpler, but which were so bold and tangy I am still salivating over them a week later. My fiance ordered the shrimp tostadas and we were both stunned when they arrived stacked high with so much shrimp I couldn't believe they were so inexpensive. We have decided to make this little restaurant a weekly destination! The only negative: Don't order the Margaritas, stick with the imported beers.
Pros: fresh wholesome food
Cons: margaritas, slow service during dinner rush, phone number listed is wrong
