"La Cabana" literally means "the hut", and it's outward appearance may have you thinking it's a dive. The owner recently made some modifications to the inside, however, resulting in a bigger place with several atmospheres in which to feast. The food is fresh, plentiful, simple and authentic. I arranged for a group of about 20 classmates, plus our Spanish professor, to have a private room for a luncheon and study group. Everyone was pleased, even the teacher was impressed! (No, it didn't raise my grade). The waitresses are friendly and courteous, and considering the size of the crowd, the service was fast. My husband and I have been there several times, and the service has been consistently great. They have a jukebox full of Hispanic tunes. Sometimes they have strolling mariachis on Friday or Saturday nights, adding to the experience. Since I live within walking distance, it has become a weeknight dinner place as well as a choice for special occasions. The flan is excellent!
