LF Stores 1/10/2012

I have been a loyal LF customer for over 7 years and have only had positive experiences in the stores in which I shop. My primary store is Scarsdale NY, but have shopped many times in Greenwich CT, NYC, and Miami . The trick to successfully shop in this store is understanding that they have clothes appropriate for girls of 13 and women of 70, you just need to take your time, and find or create the look that is comfortable for you. The fun of LF is that it is like a large treasure chest and you have to search for your prize. The clothing is in piles and moved around often so you can go in often and see something that has been there for weeks but you never noticed it. As far as pricing, and quality, I feel like you have to be careful and selective everywhre. You are paying for interesting styles and trendy looks. In our town most of the women's clothing stores are far more expensive if you are an adult woman buying clothes. If you are buying for children that are still growing it is a bit pricy but no more pricy then Juicy or, Splendid or any of the other designer kids brands. The only criticism I have is that despite the fact that most other stores have a 7-10 day return policy, and at LF you can only get store credit. I think every customer deserves to be able to shop, go home and return if within a fair amount of time. Especially if you are buying things for your children without them there. I also believe that accessories and jewelry should be returnable just as they are in other stores. Additionally I do feel they take a little advantage with the jewelry prices but hey if you think it is too expensive, nobody is forcing you to buy it. I love LF and so do my 19 year old girls. Give it a try you won't be sorry :) more

Immature Staff 8/20/2011

I have meaning to write this for a while. As a fashion and wardrobe stylist, I frequently shop the market. I have had nothing but bad experiences at LF. \r \r At this location, they regularly close earlier than they are supposed to. Just today, I tried to pick up two items that I already had in mind and they had the door locked over five minutes before they were supposed to close. To make matters worse, the sales associates tried to run the time by insulting my intelligence. I can tell time...thanks. The ditzy manager (named Karen) knew they were all wrong but tried to play it off by acting stupid. I understand that people are tired and would like to go home after a long day but these airheads are being paid to do a job (an easy job) and they are making their company lose money. They could have made a quick and easy $200. When I called to complain, the guy was indifferent and technically hung up on me. Whenever I come here, I get a weird, awkward and standoffish stare from sales associates who would rather talk about all they plan to buy with their employee discounts instead of actually helping customers. They seem to hire ditzy local girls (and guy) from the neighborhood who want discounted clothes and not actual professional sales associates. Only once have I received proper service here and that was from an associate named Nicole back in July. The staff at this LF needs to be more professional and mature.\r \r Overall, the company itself needs to stop fooling their consumers. The clothes are nice and trendy but are overpriced for the quality. The best time to shop is during their annual sales when everything is the price it is worth in the first place. They sell generic mass produced designs at brand name and even designer prices. I am very careful and perceptive with what I decide to purchase. The worse aspect of the products sold here are the jewelry pieces. Adjustable rings that should not be sold outside of Toys R Us are $60 dollars here...yikes. I am happy that the bad service (and terrible music) at several of their stores (Scarsdale, Union Square, Greenwich, Soho...I will give Cobble Hill a pass, their staff tries to be attentive but falls short due to a lack of proper training) has turned me off from the company. I really need to stop being tempted to waste my money here. The JC shoes can be bought anywhere.\r \r Why shop here and deal with their crap when I can stick to my favorite labels T by Alexander Wang, Haute Hippie, One Teaspoon, Vena Cava and Rag and Bone? Even better, I can save and shop at TopShop or hey...Forever 21 (which has the same quality and designs for the price of LF's tax) There are also well curated and edgy boutiques like Oak and Pixie Market near where I live with a far superior selection?\r \r Dear LF Metro Area stores, step up or get out of New York!\r more

LF 6/18/2011

LF has a huge selection of trendy clothing. There won't be time when you won't walk out of the store with a unique and eye-catching item. Here's the thing--the majority of their pieces are not ""designer"", yet run at the same price as let's say, a T by Alexander Wang top. Most of their styles can be found at NYC boutiques such as Necessary Clothing and Mystique. A blouse priced at $128 is $19.99 at Necessary. The SAME exact blouse that's made of the same cheap silk fabric. I would have to say that their annual summer sale is the only time when you are actually getting your money's worth in terms of the fabric, construction etc. Another downside is their sometimes incompetent staff. Lastly, the ""LF look"" has been the same in the past three years: cutoff denim shorts, some variation of Jeffrey Campbell wedges, ethnic jewelry and an oversized ""silky"" blouse. I believe the customer should be sold a new and not so overused look. more

My cousin brought me to LF to shop for my birthday and I was blown away at all the great merchandise they had! Everything was so colorful and unique. I loved that most of the items I purchased were things you really don't see anywhere else. If you want to set yourself apart from your friends and co-workers, go to LF!!!! The staff was so helpful!!!!! Pros: great clothes, great staff Cons: parking more
